I don't think they bothered cleaning up the brick when it was stained during construction. How many LEED points do they take away every time you have to acid wash your exterior facade?

They did clean it at one point, you can see some photos a while back. I'm not sure who posted them, it looked nice and clean. Parkside is LEED, brick is acid washed on all areas where the scaffolding has been removed.

I've noticed some areas where sediment is starting to show on the completed section of the ARIA (east side of the tower, near the penthouse) as well

The government liquor store will die. The Spinnakers liquor store will thrive. That's my prediction.
Nowadays most people die of a sort of creeping common sense, and discover when it is too late that the only things one never regrets are one's mistakes.

^Doubt it. Rude people at the Spinnakers and no hard liquor.

I think they may have hard liquor but either way, unless you are buying a specialty item or need your beer cold why would you pay the extra cost associated with a private store.

Last time I was there they didn't have any hard liquor. I asked and everything.

Nah, the old biddies in James Bay need to get their sherry somewhere, the BC Liquor Store will be fine.

I walk past both stores on the way home from work and both usually look fairly busy. I was actually fairly disappointed with the beer selection at Spinnakers, I was hoping for more unique local stuff, but it's largely the same stuff I can get cheaper at the BC Liquor Store.

I know, it's annoying. You'd think that BC's liquor stores would want to support local brewers considering...

^ I heard that they can't. In order to be stocked at a BCLS the brewery has to make enough to be stocked at all the BCLS.

If multinational grocery chains can adapt to offer local food products I'm sure the BCLDB could adapt as well, especially as it benefits BC jobs.

The Ambrosio Market in Vicino is for sale. Asking price is $150k.

There are at least two other Ambrosio Market locations in the city, I think.

Know it all.

^There is one in CSV and Oak Bay village. There used to be one in Saanich, near the tech park but that is long gone.
