It's little known, as it is hidden in the upscale Estevan Village near Willows Beach. If you are looking for an intimate dining experience, and you prefer to eat slow cooked, european styled meals paired with the perfect wines, then visit this place.
Damn, I should be a food critic.
Actually, this is where my boyfriend did his Chef Apprenticeship, and because of it, he's a fantastic cook.

Well, its one of the best restaurants in the country. They've had such acclaimations published, and certainly they are going to charge you for it.
Ive been fortunate enough to eat there about five or six times. They have the best creme brulee Ive ever experienced.

Tonight I tried the venison. I should preface this by saying that I am generally not much of a game eater, having only had moose once before, and emotionally "dining on Bambi" has always seemed a little cruel. Don't ask me why, I have zero issues with beef or even veal, but for some reason deer are "cuter". That being said, the venison is not on their regular menu so I thought it might be a good idea to try it tonight, in case it is NOT featured the next time I am there - and believe me I WILL be going back. It was exquisite. Cooked to perfection, elegantly presented, and portioned just right.
We had an early reservation (6:00 PM, as the guest of honour prefers to dine early - he is of that generation), but by 7:00 PM every seat appeared to be filled. A nice mix of people, but probably skewing age 30+, which is fine with me. I didn't miss the 20-something crowd from the trendier places at all.
The extensive wine list is worth perusing, and several are available in half litres and even half-bottles, which is great for those not wanting to consume huge quantities of alcohol.
I also must commend the staff, who balanced our needs with complete unobtrusiveness. We were never wanting for service, nor pestered with unwanted queries or attempts to "up-sell" us on anything. A genuine friendliness seemed to pervade all those who waited on us. I suspect the staff are all quite happy in their work. Our appreciation was relfected in the 20%+ tip that we left.
I could go on forever about this little gem, but I am not certain I want to make it any more popular than it already is. I will summarize by saying, that if you have not tried the Paprika Bistro in Estevan Village, you have not yet experienced some of the best dining Victoria has to offer.
Bon appetite.

They recently opened Stage in Fernwood however you would never know this as they do not cross-market themselves. This is a very smart and down to earth couple.
