^That would make sense as they are both Jawl buildings.

Seems the one thing that all Victoria Erickson buildings have is that they are all on their own. They don't really have other buildings adjacent. Except I guess the old BC Ferries HQ on Fort St. which is beside an old heritage house.

Who designed that tower atop Rockland?
The internet says Thompson Berwick Pratt & Partners (assuming you're talking about Camosack Manor). Interestingly, Erickson did work for this firm briefly at the beginning of his career. As did Paul Merrick. No idea whose name is on the drawings, though!

Sooke Harbour House is on the market for $5.6 million under a court-ordered foreclosure sale and is also the subject of several lawsuits.
Another foreclosure action was started last year and the waterfront property is at the centre of a battle for ownership before B.C. Supreme Court. Both those files are ongoing.

Several of Victoria’s larger Inner Harbour hotels are planning along similar timelines and strict safety protocols. The Hotel Grand Pacific announced last week it will start a gradual reopening June 21 of its 304 rooms and other services. The Inn at Laurel Point is accepting reservations for stays starting June 26.

I assume there's a thread about the Red Lion Inn somewhere but couldn't find it. They've got an application in with Saanich to modify the parking area (including the parking area on the other side of the Goose) and undertake some renovations. The "pool bar and club" will be removed and replaced with commercial and/or restaurant uses on the ground floor and seven new hotel rooms on the second floor. Elevations are here: https://www.saanich....0200213elev.pdf

I’m hearing a group wants to buy the complex and raze it....I’ll try to keep everyone updated here in the event it’s looking like a sale might proceed.
If the Red Lion was a few blocks south and still within the CoV limits, no doubt the Province would be buying it to add to its slum collection.

Hotel Zed has brought its quirky, retro brand to Tofino with the “world’s first” bike-through lobby, a psychic’s den and mini disco.
It’s the third throwback-style hotel for the Victoria-based company, which has already revived older hotel properties with psychedelic colours, retro decor and unusual services on Douglas Street in Victoria and in Kelowna.

The hotel shuttle is a 1969 Chevrolet Kingswood Estate station wagon. “When I saw it, I knew I had to have it for this hotel. It is perfect,” said Farmer. “Did you know it has bench seating in the back that faces out the rear window? So retro.”

The Trump International Hotel Vancouver will be shutting down for good.
A staff member told Global News that reservations are not being accepted and said staff were told they had been laid off and the hotel was closed for good.
A notice was posted on the doors of the hotel’s restaurant saying it was temporarily closed for reasons not related to COVID-19.
The hotel opened on Georgia Street three years ago and is not owned by U.S. President Donald Trump or anyone affiliated with him. Vancouver-based developer Holborn Group licenses the Trump name and owns the building.
