What is VicPD doing here? Isn't UVIC half in Saanich and half in Oak Bay?

Kicking small, quick rodents ain't as easy as kicking guys laying on the ground!

I'm more than a little skeptical regarding the feelings of worthlessnees he's feeling. He may have been a 100% a victim that night, but he's obviously playing up the "emotionally damaged" angle to to boost his suit. Prove that there is long term damage and you're getting the big bucks.

He's a healthy, strong 19-year-old athlete that plays a very physical sport. He's going to have to play up the emotional damage.

Man I am really starting to side with the police on this one. Drunken jocks should be kicked.

Second man suing Victoria police over kicking incident caught on YouTube video

Harpinder Kang, 23, is the man on the ground in the foreground at the start of the 56-second video, shot by passerby Mike Morellato of Vancouver at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. It appears one or more officers are trying to arrest Kang when an officer in a yellow jacket approaches and kicks him twice.

This is the kid that I heard/read was playing the race card.

Wow, and again I have so little respect for the Victoria Police. I vote for privatization of the Police force ASAP!

This is my view on it .. and again we still don't know what the fully story is, but this is my understanding ... some drunken idiots decided to beat another guy up, the police responded and used excessive force. These guys the "victims", the guy being attended to is. I'm all for disciplining the police after due process, but I think these drunks playing the sympathy card and suing is a load of rubbish. I would wager that whatever force the police used on them is far less than they inflected on that other guy in the video.

Having been the victim of being beaten up on more than one occasion by a group of drunken jocks (once very seriously), yes I am sure.

But kicking a guy who complies is not on. People must have some confidence that compliance will get them fair treatment. I understand rough stuff to get the guy to knock it off but the cop's viscious kick was totally out of line. My 2 cents.

Quite possibly, but it is not the job of the police to issue punishment.

The police have a right to use a reasonable level of force to gain compliance. Kicking an individual who is already complying doesn't sound reasonable to me.
