Being called in for practise.
Kicking small, quick rodents ain't as easy as kicking guys laying on the ground!

I'm more than a little skeptical regarding the feelings of worthlessnees he's feeling. He may have been a 100% a victim that night, but he's obviously playing up the "emotionally damaged" angle to to boost his suit. Prove that there is long term damage and you're getting the big bucks.
He's a healthy, strong 19-year-old athlete that plays a very physical sport. He's going to have to play up the emotional damage.

Harpinder Kang, 23, is the man on the ground in the foreground at the start of the 56-second video, shot by passerby Mike Morellato of Vancouver at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. It appears one or more officers are trying to arrest Kang when an officer in a yellow jacket approaches and kicks him twice.
This is the kid that I heard/read was playing the race card.

Man I am really starting to side with the police on this one. Drunken jocks should be kicked.
Are you sure?

Having been the victim of being beaten up on more than one occasion by a group of drunken jocks (once very seriously), yes I am sure.

I would wager that whatever force the police used on them is far less than they inflected on that other guy in the video.
Quite possibly, but it is not the job of the police to issue punishment.
The police have a right to use a reasonable level of force to gain compliance. Kicking an individual who is already complying doesn't sound reasonable to me.
