Does anybody think that men in Victoria want to be waited on hand and foot by giggling white faced women wearing wooden sandals????

Yikes, maybe they do!!!!

That's my typical weekend. Nothing unusual there.

I noticed on Monday night that they were open for business. I believe it's the same owner as Kaz Sushi on Store Street.

I'm a neighbour of the place and dropped in last week with my son. I enjoyed my sushi (though I'm not an expert) as well as the reasonably priced ($3.75/16 oz.) selection of Phillips beers on tap. At least sushi gets around the "kitchen problem" at the location. Oysters weren't immediately available (staff implied that they would have to order it from their other restaurant over on Wharf) and there was some opening week confusion regarding the menu. Quite a selection of cocktails. I'll go again, even though my wife is allergic to all things seafood.

That's enough to make me want to steer clear. That guy is a bit of a jerk.

Went to Geisha last night. Previous writers have noted the bargains, and they're right: $3.75 for 12 oz. of Phillips draft beers, and (yesterday anyway) 12 oysters for $15. What really makes it stand out, though, are the odd items on the menu: crab miso soup, horsemeat, abalone sushi, black sesame gelato. We had a roll of shrimp and crab packed with chilis and wrapped in, of all things, thinly sliced strawberries. It was great. I'll be back.

Yep, it was on the menu. Can't recall if it was grilled on skewers or as sashimi. But we asked about it, waitress confirmed it was horse, and said it was not available.

I've seen little old ladies buying horsemeat in French supermarkets, so it didn't get my dander up. Horses aren't threatened with extinction. What concerned me more were items like toro and unagi. But practically every sushi restaurant sells them, not just Geisha.

Oh god I eat so many danger-list fish... now I feel guilty. Also I might try this place out, sounds like it doesn't have the outrageous prices as the previous tenant.

16 oz glasses.

The menu may have said 16, but the glasses we got sure seemed closer to 12. Either way, $3.75's pretty good pricewise.

Just had a really good experience at Geisha Bar. Really cool spot. Drinks were very well priced and the cocktails tasty! First time trying the whole wheat rice, was really good.
Give it a try! The Staff are really friendly! Thanks Vic and Mo!
