I'd say the proportions also look quite good in that large pic above.

The roof has been poured.. Crane goes away.. mid or end of May I understand.. I forget exactly which..
cakes..
Strange, it is only the middle of May today, but the posting is dated the 20th. How does that happen?
I too like the look of the building.

As I understand, they are still having a problem getting tenants for this building with only 5 months or before its done

At the risk of getting glared at by nparker, ( ) I must say I like the looks of this building so far. I am liking the dark blue glass, which is a bit different for Victoria.
Thankfully, the building doesn't really look that much like the rendering (which looks like a pretty lame sketch now that I think of it).
Hopefully the grey bits turn out better than they look in the rendering.

It's not that I dislike this building per se; it would make a rather nice podium for a 15 storey building. Not in this location mind you. For this site I suppose this is about the best we can hope for. OMG I am becoming a Victoria "settler".

If I owned this building the first thing I would do is remove all those ugly poles away from in front of the building...dang, I said it again!

The City should have required that the poles go under, but I have a feeling this is something the developer would have been open to had they been granted a taller building.

It might be nice to think about a 15 storey building here, but people should remember you have to have tenants for that large a building too. The last I heard only 25% of this building is leased with the vast majority being leased directly by the developer for their own use

Their initial proposal was eight storeys. I think there was a little fist-a-cuff regarding parking and the size went down to six floors. Does that sound correct, concorde?

^sorry Mike I really dont remember
I think that parking was the main issue if I recall and the cost of adding the 3rd level was prohibitive. Leasing is going to be a challenge. The last I heard the asking price was $30 per sq/ft nnn and I think that it is just too rich for that area.

rents start at $22/sf + triple net ($10.75)
Those rents are reasonable for a brand new building, but there is not a lot of demand for retail or office space right now

I like all that glass. I wonder if the reflection will melt the paint off the cars at the Volvo lot
