Too difficult a task (or too lazy) to put beer prices on the menu.

Well if it's $7.50 plus tax for a 330ml Corona, the sky is the limit for their pint prices.

If it's the same as Vancouver, $6-6.50 for craft beers and $5 for the Social Lager

I completely missed their Instagram account. They posted the beer board back in June!

Wow, they have all three of Sooke’s breweries represented with Sooke Oceanside Brewery’s Renfrew Red alongside Sooke Brewing Co’s Belgian Blonde and Bad Dog’s Honey Blonde.

This is interesting, in that Sooke’s beers have been left off the roster at virtually all craft beer pubs on the south Island. Does Browns have a connection there? It’s super odd to see all three breweries represented.

Maybe they need a better sales rep.

Aha! That’s the connection. 17 Mile is within Sooke, btw. The border of the municipality starts a km out from the pub.

That's just the take-out menu.  The 18-hour ramen sounds interesting.

I'm 99% sure it'll be mediocre.

I checked it out tonight, very impressive room. There is a massive garage door and part of the bar is actually outside! The beer menu, complete with pricing and alcohol percentage , is massive! Great to see a beer menu with so many local breweries represented. The food menu is decent sized and they have an all day breakfast. We shared the Howling wings, very good, and some Cauliflower bites, also very good. I will definitely return as most of the other meals I saw coming by our table looked great.

Good to see a new pub/ restaurant open in Vic West, and a short walk from home!

The 17 changed their draughts a few months ago. None of the (Canadian) big guys are represented in their taps...a couple of imports and the rest are locals...no Blue, no Canadian, no Lucky... It's Sooke, for gawd sakes!

Draught Beer & Cider
    • Okanagan Spring 1516 Lager Sleeve $4.78 / Pint $6.52
    • Phillips Blue Buck Ale Sleeve $4.78 / Pint $6.52

    • Sooke Oceanside Brewery Red Sleeve $4.78 / Pint $6.52

Thanks for the update! I'm shocked they got rid of a couple of staples. Route 14 (the other numbered pub in Sooke) has Lucky on tap. There would be a revolt if they got rid of it, I'm sure. And then I'm sure Buffy's has Lucky (and more!).

Tried it out on Sunday.

We had a gift card for Brown's Social House. The card didn't work. The server explained this was Brown's Crafthouse and they didn't accept them yet. Maybe sometime.

Drove by on our way downtown this afternoon, the place was packed. Nice to see another food option in the area; not being a beer guy I could care less about what they offer in that regard but clearly its a nice selection.

Hoping with the opening now of this Brown's location, the soon to be constructed mid-rise tower kitty corner to it completing the Railyards, and rumblings that Dockyard Green is going to start up again, that the parking lot directly across Tyee from this craft house, which appears to be nothing more than overflow parking for Pattison's car dealership, might also one day soon go to market for a nice development. Its a big property in a prominent location and right now its nothing more than a large parking lot surrounded by a chain link fence. Not terribly visually appealing....

GoodLife is also gone from across the street. Hopefully something interesting will go in that space.

West Shore RCMP have released a surveillance photo of a suspect in an assault at Browns Social House in Langford.

Police were told the assault happened about midnight June 3 at the restaurant at 783 Goldstream Ave. when a victim was attacked after confronting the man when he left the premises with a glass of wine.

Generally, if someone walks out of a place with a glass of wine, you do not have to treat it like a 5-alarm emergency.  As long as you are not encouraging liquor walk-outs, no official is going to hold it against the place.
