I'm not particularly fond of the Mosaic condo. Too industrial looking.

Love the one in the Wave, not optimistic that I would be able to get it for $265 though.

If you're quiet, perhaps you should offer to buy my neighbor's place.. I think it will be a little out of your price range tho.

Would love to, if you would spot me the difference :-P. What are they looking to get for it? What building are you in?

I've stayed at the Delta. Rip-off and grimy. I've seen some rooms at the Grand pacific. It's very nice.
Consider the Laurel Point inn As well.

Went with Grand Pacific. Laurel Point didn't have any rooms at the right rate left, unfortunately.

He's not selling so you'd have to make him a pretty good offer :P

The only unit for sale right now is listed at $314,900 (which I think is about 14k too high). http://www.realtor.c...pertyId=9510152

If you are only looking for 1 bed/ 1 bath then it's more than you need anyway.

Yup, would probably be a good idea (re newcomers thread).

What's the Vic West neighbourhood like?

I was waiting for this listing to pop up on MLS, it was new as of yesterday. It may be *the one*.

That's $452 a square foot. Seems like a lot though, when you break it down like that.

That's where I live. Most condos are a short walk from downtown and the area is much quieter at night than downtown. You'll find a wide range of prices here from multi-million dollar condos facing the harbour with ocean/mountain views to relatively affordable units in some older buildings. Transit access is second to none and there is a good shopping centre with plenty of amenities within easy walking distance from much of the neighbourhood.

There is a new relatively affordable development taking shape along the upper harbour called The Railyards. A new wood-frame condo is going up right now with units starting at $210,000. Actually, as I peruse the price list I see that you can get a east facing 505 sq. ft. 1br/1bth/1prk (whatever prk is) with a 25 sq. ft. balcony for $260,000 and most units are below that price.

This is a photo of The Railyards I took several years back.

Look forward to joining the Victorian (and surrounding areas) community soon :-D.

A 25 sq ft balcony? Geez, why bother its about the size of 2 bathtubs. Enough for a couple of pot(ted) plants.

Well I have to say, I am totally in love with this city. Although I am having a hard time staying awake... going from one coast to the other will do that haha.

Starting the house hunt tomorrow! :-D

Thanks! I can't wait to be back for good! I'm actually having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I will soon be calling this place home. Not in a negative way. New adventure I guess.

Any of you folk climbers or mountain bikers? Or kayakers or skiers? haha.
