Fyi Counc Dubow tweeted that he doesn't support cutting the sequoia down and posted a photo of it with full festive lighting. Counc Isitt's twitter has gone back to super-secret in-camera mode, so I'm not sure if he is saying anything.

Festive lighting, wouldn't that ruffle Isitt's feathers?

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.

Sit by the warm glow of the crack pipes. See the sparks dance caused by grinders cutting U-locks. Smell the seasonal aromas of the bongs and vapes. Hobo + red hat = Santa. It's Christmas in Centennial Square.

Or just about anywhere in downtown Victoria these days. Bring it on!

all joking aside you'd be surprised how some social issues disperse when you fill a space with more regular folks.

Imagine how those social issues might disperse if there wasn't a local government actively enabling them!

You can sit back and wait for the government to handle it or you can fill the space with regular folks.  Imagine roaming gangs of upstanding citizens just loitering in spaces where the homeless/street people usually congregate.  Heck, the upstandedness of the citizenry might even rub off.  Or regular folks might be introduced to meth.  Maybe a bit of both.

Ain't nobody got time for that though, except all the retired folks around these parts...

Last time I was in the square was not able to enjoy this as it was the phlegmy spitting cough cough cough echoing and persisting longer than five minutes causing me to vacate the area.

The REALITY is a very beautiful experience...

The Lights of Wonder display had lots of baby strollers, people taking pictures, etc.  Well worth a look if you're in the area, and lots a people were in the area as the restaurants were packed.

Took the lights in tonight as well, pretty impressive for a free display! Lots of people, good spirits and yes downtown was busy. Got turned away at Brasserie as well as Ferris’ and ended upstairs at Perro Negro, which was excellent btw.

We must have taken your spot at Brasserie.  :D

Got there when they opened and had to sit at the bar, but it's nothing that a Gulden Draak can't fix.  One of the few restaurants that still brings you bread (for free).  We went to the light display after dinner.

Il Covo brings bread and tapenade to your table, gratis.

So does The Keg and Pag's.

Antonio's did too (and thread back on track).
