If anyone is taking more pictures, can you take some of the back of the construction? Wondering which floor up will not be blocked by the building across.

The coloured glass windows are pretty cool. The pace of construction on this one is quite something.

They just updated their website to say over 70% sold. At this pace, they might actually complete as scheduled. Impressive!

Looks for some feedback on the commercial ground floor units....will there be any foot traffic here once the development is finished? Or will everyone just continue to use Yates and Fort.

Is that due to zoning or market forces, such as a perceived lack of foot traffic?

I wonder if there are any plans for the parking lot at View and Vancouver, which is currently used as a staging area for Jukebox? Any commercial development there could drive more foot traffic to the block...

Yes, there are plans for a mid-rise tower by the same developer. There haven't been a lot of details released yet, however.

 

Regarding foot traffic, I spend a lot of time in that area and the 900-block of View is an absolute dead zone. Honestly the majority of foot traffic is heading to the liquor store or View Towers, lol. But when the rental building is completed mid-block, and Jukebox is complete on the next block, that will for sure add a little more life to the street. But pedestrians who have no business being in the 800, 900 or 1000-blocks of View will keep using Yates as each intersection is controlled (Cook at View isn't) and there's more to see/do along Yates.

Hopefully they'll make an announcement as Jukebox approaches completion.

Zoning permits the usual commercial uses (office, retail, restaurant, etc.) on the ground storey. There's an interesting height clause, though: if first storey is primarily retail and/or restaurant, then the max. height is 10 storeys; if first storey is not primarily retail and/or restaurant, then the max. height is 9 storeys.

You can walk down a driveway and see the rear of the building very easily. There is one building obstructing south views that is 5-6 stories tall.

Can anyone here help with the prospects of buying units in this building and assigning them before completion? Have there been mostly sales to investors looking to assign? Or to lease units? Has the developer priced all the gains out of these units right now at approx. $700 a square foot on some? Building looks good. Some models a little small. But some decent units left for sale still.
