I think I prefer the 4 legged kind. Especially over the latest iteration!

Here’s what you can expect over the weekend.
• Thursday, July 17 — Most of the Deuces will arrive. Watch for them coming off the ferries, on the Pat Bay Highway, and all around Victoria’s downtown core. A welcome ceremony and informal parade will be held at 2:15 p.m. as the Coho ferry arrives from Port Angeles, Washington.
• Saturday, July 19 — Watch for Deuces throughout Greater Victoria as their drivers take part in what is known as a Poker Run. Participants will travel to different locations or stops throughout the region to draw a poker chip or card. Staging starts around 7 a.m., with the run getting underway at 9 a.m. It will take three or four hours to complete.
• Sunday, July 20 — The big event runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as the largest collection of Deuces in the world, accompanied by a variety of other vehicles dating from before 1952, gathers around the Inner Harbour. See who this year’s judges deem the hottest of the hot-rods at the awards ceremony, set for 3 p.m. at the legislature lawn.
Deuce Days, scaled down
Not all of the action will be outside, as the Scale Plastic Automotive Modellers of Greater Victoria group is once again hosting a model car show alongside the festivities.
Sponsored by B.C. Hobbies, the indoor model show at the Hotel Grand Pacific is essentially a scale version of the car show taking place outside. The show features 11 classes and welcomes models of vehicles produced up to 1999.
Admission to the show is by donation for adults and free for children ages 13 and under, who will receive a car poster to take home to colour. Spectators will be asked to vote for their favourite model.

The Northwest Deuce Days Poker Run started bright and early Saturday as vintage car owners from around the globe lined up on Dallas Road, coffee in hand, ready to stop around Greater Victoria to draw chips or cards.
Staging for the event began at 7 a.m., and the rainbow spectacle of Deuces and other classic cars began their journey at 9 a.m.
Brian Williams from Sidney brought a 1949 Chevrolet that he bought on Facebook Marketplace a year and a half ago. He said he loves Deuce Days because of the sense of community it brings and he’s made friends through the event.
“The car culture on this island is just phenomenal,” he said. “They don’t judge. It doesn’t matter what your car looks like.”

Rode our bikes down to the Deuce Days event today. Mistake. Bike lanes are all closed and the crowds were bigger than I had ever seen at this event before. Pushing the bikes through the throngs of people was a chore. Got out of the crowds and rode by the Coast Guard base and then up Dallas road. Stopped at Overboard Ice Cream, they could rename it Overpriced Ice Cream, good but no better than others at cheaper prices.
Bike lanes worked like a charm up Blanshard, cars were lined up bumper to bumper and we sailed through. Didn't meet any other bikes in the lanes either.

I'd be on board for that. There's just one caveat: changing signage and branding costs money, so if they rename the place it would unfortunately result in increased prices.

Hundreds of exhibitors from the area will showcase their wares at the Sooke Fall Fair, held Saturday and Sunday at Fred Milne Park.
The popular event has been highlighting the agriculture roots of Sooke since 1913, and has expanded to include everything from a car show and scarecrow contest to pet parade and Lego-building contest.
No longer held at the Sooke Community Hall, the fair has moved to a new location with an expanded footprint this year, to accommodate a record number of participants and exhibitors, with everything from vegetables, fruit, flowers and baked goods to needlecraft, photography, and artwork among the offerings.
Fred Milne Park is located at 2249 Sooke River Rd. Admission is by donation. To contact organizers, email sookefallfairemail@gmail.com.
Details are available at sookefallfair.ca.

Stranger still, Google tells me that the 225 area code wasn't introduced until 1998.

Odd that the phone number is ten digits. That wasn’t a thing in 1971.

‘It’s one of a kind’: Ladysmith couple builds rare car museum in backyard
The Blackstaffs say they are feeling an increasing sense of urgency to save the collection, with Harry now 80-years-old and Shirley, 77. They don’t have children to pass it on to, so they want to secure its future now.
“We want to know that this is going to be saved for the people of this area,” said Shirley Blackstaff.
“Stuff has to be saved,” said Harry Blackstaff.
So the seniors plan to meet with local and provincial leaders as soon as they can, to pitch their generous plan, to make their dream collection, one that will last for generations.

Golly, that's interesting.
