I've been to a couple of political "events" there and it didn't seem like a gang hangout, but maybe they cleared out when some sort of event was going on.

OK, instead of this mysterious post, I'll spell it out. WCTH has been the meeting place for some low-level organized crime types in WesCom. Everyone in local law enforcement knows it. But I'm sure they don't contribute more than 10% of the revenue there. They would be better of without it.

The hangout for these types used to b ethe Waterwheel Pub on Peatt Rd looks like when it shut down the clientele found a new home.

Moe Sihota owns that place I think. In the Four seasons may be a good setup if they ever need a lawyer

Looks like somebody's trying to go upscale. And they've jacked the prices to prove it. They've also taken to dressing the girls in more conservative all black outfits. Having said all that, it wouldn't be so bad if the food quality matched the high prices. But, sadly, it really doesn't. There's only two types of burgers to choose from now (chicken or beef) and you don't get to decide what goes on them or what comes with them. We tried them both and were quite disappointed in the dry, overcooked meat and overall lack of flavour. I'm not quite sure what type of clientele they're trying to target (the nouveau bistro crowd), but I have a feeling they're going to scare away more customers than they're going to attract with this new look.:(

This was exactly our experience a few days ago on Friday night, and the server confirmed they are in fact trying to go upscale. Even during a Canucks game on a Friday night the place was near barren, and the only couple that walked in after us left after sitting down and reviewing the menu. Bummer, because I was really looking forward to their old burgers.

Oh, and what sirswithin didn't mention is said new-menu-bland-upscale burgers cost $16.95 with fries!!! (plus tax and tip of course)

$17 for a burger must be the highest price in town, save maybe for a special order at the Empress.

Yep, and it didn't even have bacon, tomato or onion on it! To be perfectly honest, I would've preferred a Wendy's Classic single combo it. At least that would have had flavor, some veggies on it, about the same grease content, but a third of the price with a drink!

Word is there has been another reversal. Since the NHL came back, they want to go back to being a bar again.

Not quite, but close - they realize the transition was just far too drastic, so want to slowly introduce the new items and blend them with the old - instead of a complete overhaul, its more an additional of sorts. I do believe they want to move away from 'bar' though possibly by March. You know what, I'm fine with that. The food has always been really good and if they want to go more fine dining, its all good if the food continues to be good. The service could be worked on a bit with this transition though as it can be hit and miss depending who is there. Still my favorite Westshore food though.

When the road goes through to the TCH they will probably get a lot more drive by business, which should help their bottom line.

Hmmm

Cfax1070: #WestshoreRCMP are investigating a fire at the Four Points Sheraton this morning.

This is the second fire at the Sheraton this year. On August 21st an arsonist set fire to the Inferno Chophouse and Bar at the Sheraton.

We will have more information for you as it becomes available.

I'm hearing from people on the scene, it's very minor this time. Someone kicked in a back door and set chefs' coats alight.

Disenfranchised employee or a random act of arson?
