About an hour ago, the wind really had a field day with the white foam insulation that was being stored on the roof which is now littered all throughout the area including the Upper Harbour. It was quite the airshow seeing the foam shattering upon impact at Dockside. Kudos to those who tried cleaning up what they could off the streets and Triangle Park despite the stormy conditions.

Didn't get an up close view but I think the scaffolding is now off this - would be a good time for some new pics...

Much better. That green coat that's still visible on the front of the building (not the netting) must have been a primer or base coat.

As I understand, this building is deemed for affordable housing. It is nice how it doesn't "look like it." If I weren't living in Victoria, and I happen to stumble upon it, I would think it is a market condo building.

What is everyone's thoughts on this project? is it an improvement over the first phase?
I know the architect did an amazing job designing this structure to minimize shadowing despite having to use an existing structure( parking structure).

It's built for a purpose, and it appears as though it will serve its purpose well. Not everything building can be a home run aesthetically, but having said that if this building is what social/affordable housing will look like in this region I think that's ok.
Now let's get on with the next one. Speaking of which, Layne, are there plans for a second junior highrise by Pacifica elsewhere in town?

That is something I do not know at this point. I would suspect there will be another project for that firm given the new commitment to affordable housing by the federal government.

For what it is it's a pretty decent little building. It's got some asymmetry in the details which can help make a slab more interesting than it otherwise would be. Any taller and I'd want the upper floors to be set back or otherwise distinguished a bit (but then I always say that). The ground floor facing the street seems to be pretty good for this location. Now how about one of these?

Looks nice. Now to find out what their eyesore neighbor is planning.

Just drove by Wilson's Walk and noticed that there is a Pacifica Housing Open House sign out front with people heading towards the entrance...
