Some of the Groupons I've seen lately are just terrible. Case in point: AJ's Organic Cafe in the Atrium has a Groupon of $12.25 for two lunches of a 1/2 sandwich and soup/salad. Come again? At a $21 value, are they seriously charging $10.50 for a 1/2 sandwich and a ****ty little side the rest of the time!? HALF A SANDWICH!!!! And people are paying this? Also, I'd never go to Fatburger again and pay full price, but their Groupon looked appealing at that discounted price point. Until I realized that they couldn't bring themelves to add 8 cents worth of pop to make it a full meal.

Oh and while I'm at it, NEVER purchase a Groupon Good - even from a reputable manufacturer. Often buried in the fine print is that anything purchased as a Groupon will cancel whatever standard warranty you would have got, had you bought it pretty much anywhere else. Coincidentally, my first and last Groupon Good and Altec Lansing product.

We bought a Groupon for Epic Surf for paddle-boarding. If you are thinking about buying one or using this company - don't. The only thing they provide is epic failures. We called, e-mailed, showed up at their office and got no satisfaction, not even a response.

As we were at their office on Saturday at 2pm, they were closed. There was a sign saying they were at Gonzales.

As my wife was penning a nastygram to put through their mail slot  another young lady came up with the same complaints so we added her on to the note. She had rented from them before with a very unsatisfactory result and thought she would give them another try. It was a mistake. (They told her to take the paddleboard to the Gorge launch site, she humped the paddleboard all the way there, from Market Square, only to find out the Gorge site was closed due to construction, so she had to hump the board all the way back.)

Today we got a call from a guy who also bought a Groupon for them, and had a similar unsatisfactory experience. He got our phone number from the nastygram we put thru the mail slot and was visible thru the glass panel in the door. This guy saw the sign saying that they were at Gonzales so he went out there. Guess who wasn't there.

Don't waste your money, time or effort with these bozo's.

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.

I walk through Market Square every day and I think they've been closed for weeks.

Know it all.

They're surfers, dude, and surf's up.  It's a laid back culture, don't be hating on them.  Just chill.

Did I mention here that Get In the Loop and CFAX have parted ways?

Did I mention here that Get In the Loop and CFAX have parted ways?

And I guess they have jumped in with Pattison instead.

Kelowna-based tech company GetintheLoop is expanding its reach with a deal that will take its exclusive deals' platform to Vancouver Island in a partnership with radio magnate Pattison Broadcast Group.

GetintheLoop connects consumers with non-stop exclusive deals via their smart phones in multiple B.C. cities including Kelowna, Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Vernon, Penticton and Victoria.

This new agreement will take its reach further onto Vancouver Island and will nearly double its reach.

“To further expand our reach throughout Western Canada alongside a partner like the Pattison Broadcast Group is an exciting opportunity for our organization," said Matt Crowell, CEO of GetintheLoop. "This partnership will see the number of cities we operate in more than double and is set up to launch future markets under the partnership.”
