^ I guess their first choice would be to not buy the unit. It would seem to me that that is fairly common to be able to see into a neighbouring building. My windows in my house look into the neighbouring house and it is FAR closer than between those two buildings.

If people want uninterupted views of farm land they can live in Metchosin.

Yes. And after 5 pm that office building is empty so you actually have more privacy in the evening (when it really matters) than most people.

Office and condo usually make good neighbours. While you're at work they are in their office and don't see you, and when you come home from work the office is most likely empty and shut down.

I suspect their first choice would actually be to buy the unit and then complain that Sussex Place should never have been built back in 1994.

Now there's the Victorian NIMBY spirit we all know and love.

No doubt after moving back into town from Songhees.

The ground floor unit now contains a Lully's Sandwich Bar.

It's a little bit of Montreal on Broughton

He imports the meat from Schwartz's in Montreal, uses a custom-made steamer "to keep the juices just right" and found that Portofino bakery makes the perfect rye bread.

"It's as Montreal as it comes," says White, a father of two boys who spent the past five years at Pescatores and Prime Steakhouse.

He also prepares an amazing Christmas turkey- breast sandwich with olive oil and rosemary, roast beef, honey ham and a veggie lover's -- not to mention Nathan's Frankfurters imported from Coney Island on salted pretzel bun with homemade relish. "Everything for the sandwiches is off the bone and then I save the bone to make my soups," said White, who also serves salads and fresh-baked deserts.

It is actually a little bit of Montreal, but for a lot of argent.

Stopped by today for lunch, as having spent my undergrad days at McGill, I spent many a drunken late-night on rue Saint-Laurant at Schwartz's, lining up for a smoked meat sandwich, medium-fat and a Cherry Coke - which today goes for $7.20 plus TPS/TQS.

Lullly's was lined up out the door - not surprising, given the noteriety brought to it by Kloster's article. I was willing to wait it out, but the menu on the door indicated $9.00 for just the sandwich.

Suffice it to say, that was enough for me to walk the two blocks to the Italian Deli and get myself a grilled meatball panino (with pickled eggplants and peppers) for just a little over half that.

I got to sit down with the Peter deHoog and discuss this building and mix-used building in general and I'll have a front page article up about it soon! This building is very interesting from a design/bylaw angle.

Man, I'd love to pick one up! Shame I probably have less money than those being foreclosed...

Hi, welcome to our penthouse office.  As you can see, we have a kitchen right here in the reception area, do you want any bananas before your session?

No?  OK, well Mr. Clark is in the last office on the right down the hall here.  Feel free to have bath in the tub in the bathroom next to his office if you like.

It wouldn't work for VV offices, if that's what you're suggesting. Mike K. has never been a big fan of perks for staff (things like washrooms or natural light).
