And it looks from that that it never was, was there some rationale to that?
I know the city I grew up in had fluoridated water.

Sooke Lake is now 90% full, which is the fastest it has reached this level in the last 4 years.
On this date in 2013 it was at 78%, 2014 at 84% and 2015 at 81.5%.
The lake is at 92.8% so we are ahead of last years pace.
I predict it will be over the spillway by Dec 3rd.

I'm still thinking Dec 15 as most of the rain over the last few days takes a few days to flow in to the reservoir. Crap, that may mean I'll have to buy Mike and VHF lunch....

I predict it will be over the spillway by Dec 23rd.
Now up to 97+% and the wet stuff is coming.

There is a 2.6%* possibility that the reservoir will not be topped when the new year is rung in.

The least we could do is fire the billions of gallons of water we are about to spill, through a turbine and get some electricity out of it...
I think we need a second dam at the Sooke Potholes with another turbine to double the generating capacity.
And after it goes through the second turbine use the electricity to pump the water back into the Sooke Lake reservoir.

I'm going to jot this down because it raining cats and dogs right now. It's been raining cats and dogs for much of the day.
And nearly the entirety of January has been pretty darned moist.
And yet in several months the CRD will roll out its water restrictions like there's nothing to it. They'll even raise our water rates if we conserve too much water.
What a travesty it is to have as much rain as we do in this part of the world and yet come summer we operate as though we live in an arid desert.

Total travesty. We should have a crew raising the dam now.

Like most things in Victoria this has nothing to do with science, it is all about the left trying to impose their will on others.

It's sadder because I'm crying about it.

It's funny, I thought exactly the same thing when I woke up this morning. We have no water shortages in our part of the world, just terrible water mismanagement.
