^Too bad. The guy at Canada RAM helped recommend a small battery for an old computer. There's no way I could have figured that out on Amazon.

The other Boston Pizza on Blanshard ;)

Memory Express is going in at Blanshard and Hillside, not Blanshard and Saanich

Ahhh okay, that's probably a better location.

You are kidding right? Amazon.

Actually Amazon isn’t that price competitive on this front. Maybe on consumer stuff but not on computers components...

Re MemoryExpress: Newegg, TigerDirect, NCIX are alternatives.

Amazon can work too, but typically only if there is a sale. I probably get 20% of my parts from Amazon, most is from either NCIX or Newegg; rarely from TigerDirect or Memory Express. Newegg and Amazon are decent for reviews though if you're doing research first.

If building a computer, I recommend you just use PCPartPicker. It'll pick out the cheapest place to find the specific component you want anyways.

I usually end up finding way better deals on american amazon and getting my friend in seattle to mail it up.  Still save money at the end of the day doing it that way for most things.

Say it ain't so!

Edit:

The US had put new 10% to 25% tariffs on computer components, so prepare for parts to get more expensive from US retailers.

Have it sent by USPS and they almost never collect duties or taxes unless the price is over a couple hundred.

Yes, so NCIX is out as of December last year. Oddly, the website is still functioning.

Canada Computers I think has picked up some of the retail stores.

If you're ordering from a US retailer, the retailer is going to have to pay that duty when they bring the items into the country from the manufacturer and will increase their list prices accordingly. Which shipping method the end user chooses is irrelevant.

I see your point. Would apply to inventory imported prior to June or whenever the duties were imposed.

The produce stand in Cook Street Village will be closing at the end of the month as its owner retires:

We'll miss that produce stand. He always has fresh, reasonably-priced berries in the summer and good apples in the fall. Also nice sized spuds, not too big like the grocery stores do. Well I hope he has a happy retirement!

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned or not, but Michal Megrin has opened a store on Fort Street in the Bay Centrs’s former Teavnna location.

Yes, that. Hasn't that been open for at least a few months now?

Any idea what's going into the old SportsChek location? I'm hoping someone brings back Mayfair Lanes
