today’s Knox column talks about sea galley becoming memory lane.

Which I think was a 50’s diner style. Wasn’t that what nautical nellies was at one time?

Nautical Nellies was the Blue Coyote earlier, but i don’t know what it was before that.

As the acknowledged world expert in this topic, I can confirm, yes, it did have something of a retro theme but not the chrome/red vinyl/barstool counter look of Louie Louie's and the other similar retro 50s diners. Ken Hole was aiming more to the Lawrence Welk crowd offering dining and dancing.

What was a famoso space at market square. I liked that one. before sunset grill or whatever.

80 years on, and our night life is still maxed out at 2AM for clubs, and most late-night eateries are closed by midnight or 1AM.
