Didn't I just confirm that it's there in the post above yours? :)

^Yes, but I needed actual proof in the form of a link because anybody can say anything on the internet and with all the rumours, speculation and innuendo surrounding this mythical dry cleaning place, hard proof was necessary. I just hope the 9/11 conspiracy theory crowd doesn't get a hold of this discussion or they'll deny that it ever existed.

If there's a website about it then it must be true.

Well, yeah. In an age where the UN declares Internet access a human right, it better be true.

And yet easily accessible dry cleaning isn't a human right. Go figure.

I should start a website.

Hmmmmmm....

Dropped off a jacket at the drycleaner at Quadra and Johnson this afternoon.

Handed it to the clerk, pointed out a bit of a mark/stain that needed some extra attention, specified a pick-up date, and the attendant handed me my pick-up slip.

Now, here's the strange part.

When I left, I looked at my slip. It has my full name on it. I never gave her my name, or my phone number. I did not recognize the clerk (the slip says her name is Cheryl), and I don't go there all that often, maybe once every four months.

I did notice they had no complimentary suckers today, and they usually do, but the place has changed names/owners, it's no longer a One-Hour Martinizing, it's just called something Cleaners.

I did phone a couple hours earlier to ask if they were open, and until what time, but I didn't end the phone call with "I'll see you in 126 minutes with a black jacket" or anything. But I suppose they might have had call display, but it still doesn't explain how she tied that phone call to me.

Maybe they have facial-recognition software?

EDIT: I recall making a funny joke last time I was there about a stain on some pants, it wasn't a rude joke, but it was funny, to both me and the clerk. I forget what it was though. Maybe that stood out in her mind and she recognized me.

Don't forget the wetcleaners on Cook near Fort. The spent over 100k transforming it to green and non-toxic technologies.

Hey, I didn't realize until now that the cleaners in St. Andrew's Square has a swipe-card drop-off closet. Swipe your card, open the door, drop off you stuff before or after regular opening hours. That's cool. The cards are tracked, so they know who's going in and out, and they likely have a camera set up inside too, sounds trouble-free.
