Hopefully the city won't balk at the revised parking plan that was generated in response to the soil conditions...

The developer is offering to include eight three-bedroom below-market rentals as part of the revised plan, while reducing commercial space by a significant margin in order to allow for more surface parking.

I'd rather they keep the commercial sq/ft.  Who needs all that parking on the best transit route in the core?

Dont know why they need a commercial component considering all the business already in the area.

That's exactly why they need a commercial component, as businesses want to be in that area.

Then again maybe not.

Not yet. Here's the Dev Tracker folder: https://tender.victo...Number=DPV00059

Based on the substantially increased unit count (83 to 166), I imagine that the variance is for height. The zone allows for up to 37 m.

Your dev tracker link is broken @jackerbie.

At least 3 of these properties were just sold to a different developer at the end of August; likely all of them were sold.

Commercial space on the ground floor is fantastic for ground floor space no one would really want to live on. After walking past Yello down View this morning, I feel for those on ground floor units.

I just looked them up on bcassessment.ca and it seems all 7 of the lots changed hands on 23-Aug for a total of ~$8.6M
