It is best if you can phone ahead and speak to any manager, and make your phone conversation known when you come in to dine.

mentioned it to the host, who passed it on to my saucier, who passed it on to me.
Sherry braised de Puy lentils, marinated roasted vine tomato, toasted hazelnut and frisee salad, roasted morel mushroom vinaigrette, $18. They had some good feedback!
These were all items we have on hand right now for other applications, so it was a snap to put together. It pays to call ahead!

I find, though, that I rarely plan ahead before heading out for dinner. It's more of a spontaneous outing than one that's planned even more than a few hours in advance. My girlfriend is a little touchy with gluten so we often have to figure stuff out as we go, but normally there is an offering or two that she can try. What helps, though, are markings some restaurants are starting to put on their menus that indicate GF for gluten-free.

the Gluten free Cafe on Quadra closes at 5 pm...how the heck do you get in for dinner??..
When I think "cafe" I usually think lunch or afternoon tea/coffee, not dinner. But I'm one part English so maybe it's different?

Good for Victoria, or if you're traveling.
More restaurants are proactively registering to appear here. I think it started out as a site for patrons to comment/recommend restaurants as to their celiac friendliness (or not)
I'll echo the good review of The Joint for pizza.
I know Old Spaghetti has a limited menu of gluten free dishes. they use corn flour pasta.
(I've been celiac for just a few months, so I haven't tried many)

A guest phoned on Tuesday, asked if they could have a vegan/gluten free lunch so when they came in today it was no surprise. They
mentioned it to the host, who passed it on to my saucier, who passed it on to me.

I have a friend who (just recently) can no longer wheat and dairy, eating out is difficult. These dishes sound wonderful, which is your restuarant Matt. Thanks.
