There is some revenue sharing re-balancing, but I would be very surprised if any Canadian teams actually benefit from that.

Don Cherry has released the final episode of his podcast, The Grapevine.
After more than 300 episodes, the 91-year-old hockey player, coach, and broadcasting legend has decided to hang up the headphones for good.
"Well Tim, this is our last show," a frail-sounding Cherry told his son and co-host at the end of the episode, released Saturday.
The younger Cherry informed his father that they had recorded 313 episodes together, which came as a surprise to him.
"We've been listened to all around the world," he added. "It's just amazing how many different countries people download and listen to it. We've had 6.5 million downloads."
The elder Cherry signed off by thanking everyone for listening, adding, "toodle-oo!"

Very unfair how he got canceled. The guy deserves respect.

Can’t believe he was still broadcasting at 91. Absolute legend.
Very unfair how he got canceled. The guy deserves respect.
And in the meantime that insipid politically-correct clown Ron McLean managed to not only not get canned but he continues as a between periods host complete with his weak sense of humour and brings nothing of substance to the broadcast. But "hey" at least he toed the corporate line and didn't - heaven help us all - offend anyone.

It's crazy how Canadian hockey broadcasting went from best in the world to worst in the world in such a short time.

The Stanley cup season is over, and it’s like it never happened.
Huh? Maybe for you, clearly not a hockey fan.

I wouldn't say the "worst" exactly - there is no NHL coverage more deserving of The Dreck Sports show of the World than ESPN Hockey which is beyond unwatchable.
I did however tune in to some of TNT's coverage this SCF and was pleasantly surprised. It was quite good and a million times better than listening to McLean or Jennifer Botterill on Sports Net. Both are dreadful and just ruin that broadcast. They should cut it down to Kevin Bieksa, Kelly Hrudey and "Insider" Elliotte Friedman.
But only the CBC however could take the Crown Jewel of Canadian television, HNIC.....the global benchmark for NHL coverage which all others aspired to for over 60 years, and flush it and the "brand" without so much as a second thought.

Interesting not sure what Canucks' management is trying to do, but today they acquired Oiler forward and Vancouver boy Evander Kane.
Five years ago this would have been very interesting however now at age 33 and coming off an injury-plagued year not sure how much Kane has left in the tank. Has loads of SCF playoff experience of course but with Brock Boeser likely gone in free agency, questions about Quinn Hughes re-signing or not next year, and Thatcher Denko's health with rumors Vancouver might be looking to unload him, the Canuck lineup is definitely in a state of flux.

Now Grapes says he is not retiring, he just meant it was his last hockey podcast this year.
I kind of thought that myself, nobody had checked with him but ran with the story.
