Will this translate to lower ticket prices at the arena?
For resale for sure, already has. For face value, I'm less sure, maybe a little bit.

He was Vancouver's lone representative at the 1983 NHL all-star game and was favoured for MVP honours before Wayne Gretzky scored four times in the final 10 minutes.
Garrett formed a long-running broadcast partnership with play-by-play man John Shorthouse and host Dan Murphy on Canucks regional telecasts.

While it wasn't that long ago that the "Star-Spangled Banner" was getting booed north of the border, here in the US of A, fans are happy to jump in and belt out "O, Canada" when the anthemist's microphone decides it doesn't feel like working.
It's the neighborly thing to do.
On Tuesday night, the Buffalo Sabres welcomed the Boston Bruins to town for Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs first-round series.

Now, in Buffalo they play the Canadian anthem for every game regardless of opponent, so that helps the fans to know the words.

The franchise has promoted Henrik and Daniel Sedin to co-presidents of hockey operations and named Ryan Johnson as GM.

If I own a $2.2B company I'm going to be involved.

Maybe if you've owned that company for decades and the ultimate measure of success has been far out of reach for 15 years, you'd try a different approach to how you're involved...
