Canada Post is no longer relevant, I’m afraid. They’ve been exposed as low effort by every other delivery agency that deliver to your door, no questions asked.

North Cowichan is finally getting the recognition it’s been seeking from Canada Post.
Mailing addresses for some North Cowichan properties that are currently Duncan are expected to switch over next year to North Cowichan, the municipality said Friday.
It said North Cowichan has a long history of attempting to change the mailing address for its properties, but until recently, Canada Post had not approved the request.
After Langford successfully changed its postal address from Victoria last year, North Cowichan approached Canada Post again.
The change only affects addresses currently designated as Duncan. North Cowichan addresses using Crofton or Chemainus will not be affected.

Today I learned that 'Solutions for Small Business' customers with Canada Post get one free small parcel shipping every Tuesday in October. I gather this isn't a new program, but I've never heard of it.

So when they arrived, the Canada Post delivery person collected some duty from me. I expected it, it wasn’t much, I paid by credit card at my front door.
I liked the shirts so much that I ordered three more, exact same model, price. Except three rather than two so the price was 50% higher.
Today I found a package at my door. Three shirts. No duty bill or anything.
What gives?

Duty collection has always been hit and miss to me. Maybe get asked 10% of the time for eligible purchases? I've also been assessed duty when I'm certain it should have been exempted under USMCA, but whatever, I don't stress about it for a few bucks.

I'm willing to "pay my fair share" but I've been denied!

Why do they have to charge you $10? I’ll pay the tax, whatever. But why ding me $10 to collect the tax?

I was at the PO today to pick up a car part and was hit with taxes, plus a $10 handling fee, for a $90 part manufactured in Texas.

Starting to feel like we are taxed and charged fees to death

Starting?
on another note not sure why we need 5 day a week delivery, twice a week is plenty. Not even sure why we need door to door delivery, everyone gets a super mail box like we were supposed to get 10 or so years ago.

Locked-out workers at ports in British Columbia were joined on the picket lines by their peers in Montreal on Sunday night, stymying trade at Canada’s two largest marine trading hubs heading into the busy holiday shopping season.
While experts tell Global News that consumers will hopefully avoid a Christmas crunch, they also warn that the latest kinks in the Canadian supply chain could affect hopes for an economic rebound.
“This has been a constant drumbeat of disruptions in the logistics and transportation sector over the last year, year and a half,” says Fraser Johnson, professor of operations management at Western University’s Ivey Business School.
“It’s been a constant problem and a lot of headaches for Canadian companies.”

Do you mean the port workers?

Yes, port workers are being legislated back to work.
Work action by postal workers hasn't begun yet, and job action may not start for a while.

Didn’t Jagmeet Singh indicate that any more back to work legislation would be a red line for him?
Yeah, that rings a bell... is this something that the Liberals have to push through as a bill that could be considered a confidence bill?

Sounds like they're just using ministerial orders to require binding arbitration, which may not be legal, but bumps the issue to the courts probably a long ways away from decisions and avoids legislation. Same for the rail strikes earlier this year.

Didn’t Jagmeet Singh indicate that any more back to work legislation would be a red line for him?
In the context of the supply and confidence agreement.
Which he pulled out of, alleging the back to work legislation at the railroads.
However, just because he ripped up the agreement doesn't mean NDP MP's will vote against confidence motions.
