Colwood Mayor Rob Martin:

As Mayor, I belong to both the Colwood Community Facebook page and the Royal Bay Community Facebook page. I specifically do not post or comment as I believe this is for community members and any communication by the Mayor should be through the City of Colwood Facebook page.

However, belonging to these groups helps me understand the concerns as well as the positives that are happening in our community.

2 weeks ago, the administrors of the Royal Bay Community page removed me. When I contacted them back saying I was Colwood’s Mayor and I would like to follow the conversations, nothing.

They have accepted 9 new members this week but they continue to block me.

It’s disappointing.

I would ask if you do belong to this group, that you share with them your belief that Mayor and Council should be listening and should be welcomed in your group.

It’s hard to listen to the community’s needs when your blocked from hearing them.

Ok then it’s not a big deal. And it’s such a small group, maybe even operated by people who wish for it to be for residents only.
