My dad is technically 5 but if there's no work from about 4 on they'll just send everyone home. I think my brother is 7:30-3. Everyone else I know is part time with school so don't really fit in a typical work schedule.

That must be the childless, old white man quitting time.

Oh man, what a horrible connection the 61/65 has with the 46 to Dockyard. You’d think a major trunk route would be timed or coupled with secondary connectors like the 46. The entire morning sees the 61/65 arriving too late to make a smooth transition onto the 46. The 65 even meets at the starting point of the 46 at Westhills, for gosh sake...but too late for the connection.
Brutal.
Might a transfer at Uptown with the 26 be more suitable? I know it's a bit convoluted. But I might trade an extra 10 minutes on a warm bus for waiting 15 minutes at a cold transfer stop in West Shore.
EDIT: oh, the 26 is like only every 20 minutes looks like.

61/65 departures at Boleskine:
6:29
6:58
26 departures
6:28
6:55
It’s like the 61 is a bastard child of connections. Unreal.
It’s no wonder why 500 vehicles from Sooke head for the base every morning.

Based on the Google Map schedules here's the exact route for the 65 (I mapped going from downtown to Sooke so southbound might be slightly different) https://www.google.c...75956!3e0?hl=en
Edit: just noticed I forgot the loop in Sooke. It's exactly the same as the 61. There also is no stops on Westshore parkway after Commander Crt although I imagine those will be added as more houses are added. I also expect this bus to be late a lot since every stop from Langford Parkway at Westhills Stadium to Sooke at Awsworth (so the entirety of Westshore parkway) is scheduled for 5:17 PM which does not seem realistic.

Seems like they're starting to install the real time bus tracker in Nanaimo at least https://twitter.com/...086435612422144

I noticed a number of buses had red tape tied around the driver's side mirror. Does anyone know what this means?

It means mirrors have been falling off maybe?

It seems the southbound stop at Douglas/Finlayson is moving to the other side of Finlayson (from in front of Denny's to the car place). There's a pull-out with the curb painted red there now.

^I was thinking the same thing.
I wonder what the oldest stop is downtown.

I thought all that construction just south of Finlayson at Douglas was to expand the road to another southbound bus lane, but it appears that they've only added a bus pad there and slightly expanded the roadway. Perhaps they're going to repaint the lanes a bit smaller to fit in another one?

North of Finlayson,
1 southbound bus lane, two through lanes, left turn lane
1 northbound bus lane, two through lanes
South of Finlayson
1 southbound bus lane, two through lanes
1 northbound bus lane, two through lanes, left turn lane
The north bound curb along VanCity etc approaching Finlayson will be move east too.

Good to hear - I hope they fix the SE corner here. There's a small section of shared lane from that corner to the bus-stop just east of it that forces bikes and cars to come together on an otherwise nice bike route.
