Final mock ups for View Royal/Esquimalt and Royal Oak to be released at the next meeting (I feel like the said that last time though) and Peninsula to start early 2021.

Local Area Transit Plans
- Both phases of public engagement have been completed for the Broadmead/Cordova Bay and Esquimalt/View Royal Local Area Transit Plans. Staff propose to provide a summary of this plan at the August meeting of the Commission.
- Local area transit planning for the Saanich Peninsula is slated to begin late in 2020 and will employ video meetings and new web-based engagement tools to facilitate stakeholder and public consultation.
yup. Although since every one of these has been delayed I guess it is to be expected.

I didn't, only looked at those two. It seems they've taken down the information as clicking on it just brings to "select your region". I'm curious what the complaints are about. Would someone complaining about someone else not wearing a mask and sitting too close to them (I know people who would do that) count for example? Or is it just complaints specifically related late/missing buses, problems with drivers, etc. The later would probably be really bad since I'm still seeing mostly empty 30/31s pass most the day so if less people are riding but complaints are rising that can't be a good thing.

Yikes.
We spoke about this, how people are finding transit unreliable due to capacity issues.

Something happened in June. Complaints fell in April and May, but surged in June.
bus service was free (and a lot of places closed) in April and May while places started opening and they were charging again in June? Not sure where the complaints from those would come from. Maybe Cedar Hill parents complaining the 17 was discontinued before school technically let out? Or users of 9/51? I can't really think of anything that would cause a ton of complaints to suddenly come in June though.

9, 17 and 51 return. 16 and 76 do not. 8 returns to serving Interurban between Tillicum and Camosun. 39 looks normal for Fall, rest of UVic routes look like how they'd normally run during Spring.

thanks, didn't even think to check non-school related routes. Although I don't know enough about 72 schedule to have been likely to notice that anyway.

BC Transit being unable to leave how buses display they're "Not in Service" alone seem to have changed it once again to "Sorry.... Not in Service"

And of course, the buses don’t appear on NextRide. Some drivers are not following prescribed detours, I’m hearing, and buses are showing up where they shouldn’t, and it’s not helping that they’re not visible on NextRide.

I really don't get why they have it set so if a bus gets too far from its route it disappears. It requires them being on top of displaying detours and removing them (which they rarely are) or if a driver happens to make a wrong turn and is trying to get back on course if they stray too far someone trying to figure out where their bus is will think it's just a no show. I can't think of any advantage to having them disappear.
