It's comforting to know that when driving one's personal vehicle becomes unsafe, we can rely on publicly funded transportation to be there for us.  -_-

I would, but there are just too many cars at my favourite bike-riding-in-a-blizzard location: Clover Point...err I mean Picnic Point.

This reminds me: which will get cleared first: sidewalks or bike lanes?

Bike lanes for sure.  Someone posted a video of the bike lane snow blower.  Looks like they are putting the snow either on the sidewalks or the road.

Well we knew that cycling boosters hate cars, but who would have imagined they hated pedestrians too?

Yes I saw a video of a bike lane being cleared on Wharf St. and a still photo of the bike lane at Government & Humboldt being cleared. Sidewalk was still covered in snow.

Is the city clearing bike lanes when 90% of the roads won't get cleared?

Don't worry, I shovelled the sidewalk into the bike lane.

IIRC, they have one dedicated 'bike lane plough', so it's easier to clear the bike lanes..

Easier perhaps. A priority? I should think not.

This isn't in line with the discussion of snow, but it is in line with discussion of BC Transit. I think I've done my due diligence in sifting through other threads and I haven't found an answer yet: Does anyone know of a location where old rider's guides and schedules can be viewed other than the Wayback Machine on Archive.org? I've been hunting for years and other than running into the occasional person who knows of an old route's frequency and routing, it's very hard to piece together transit history in Victoria. If there is a better thread (as I'm a newby around here) for this question, I'd also be happy to go over there if I'm directed.

Changes are brewing for the Victoria Regional Transit System and the public has a limited time to offer input.

As a part of an impending service change, route 53 Colwood Exchange/Langford Exchange via Atkins Road will be realigned and extended to end at Victoria General Hospital rather than Colwood Exchange next to West Shore Parks and Recreation.

Other proposed changes include discontinuing service along the west end of Goldstream Avenue (west of Leigh Road) due to low ridership, providing year-round service to Thetis Lake Regional Park and limiting commuter service to downtown Victoria.

Driver’s are saying they are under-powered and are difficult to keep warm, and their front ramp mechanisms are prone to damage. The verdict is they’re subpar to the earlier generations.

Not my opinion, just musings I’ve encountered.

8 wheels.  is that how many our current buses have?  i always assumed both rear axles were double wheels.

Looks like a trailer for the bus sim coming out, “Bus 2022” on the ps5.

Incident on the #6 Royal Oak this morning on Quadra when a guy got into a scuffle with the driver. Saanich Police arrived and got the guy on the ground and arrested him. The driver was shaken but not injured.

That shaken driver seems to have a history getting into scuffles, according to other drivers. This was one of several incidents in recent months, allegedly.
