^I'm not going to argue that.

Maybe VHF can weigh in here as both a supporter of the JSB and Chris.

Myself personally...I don't want to blind myself with tunnel vision.

Knowing Dean and the way he operates...He could sell a used car to an Eskimo.

I agree that Chris is often the last to speak on an issue/vote. That sometimes makes him seem like he wants to see where the vote is going before putting forth his position. But that also might mean he simply wants to hear the rest before he weighs in.

I've met with him one on one more than twice. He's insightful. He cares. He has said to me directly that a few things that have come up at council he thinks is just wrong/crazy.

Hey, I'm voting for Luton and Madoff, so that might tell ya I'm a little crazy, but maybe I appreciate hard work over name recognition (see: Lynn Hunter) sometimes.

The John Luton's radio ad asks voters to re-elect him as well as councillors Marianne Alto, Lynne Hunter, Pam Madoff and Mayor Dean Fortin. The team does not include Geoff Young, the councillor with the most integrity.

Bingo, why on earth would they include Geoff Young?

He has a PH. D. in Economics from Harvard!

So backbreaking hard work can trump common sense?

I appreciate hard work, but I also want that work going in the right direction.

Ya, this is hard for me to explain, but I'll try.

Pam Madoff means a lot to a lot of people that want heritage value over anything else. I'm not that kind of guy, but I do appreciate that many like this. Many like faux heritage, I don't. But I also think that if 60% of the people want something, it's my job to convince them otherwise, or let them continue on their course.

John Luton has done some amazing homework on the biking stuff, and I actually agree that as long as we are the cycling capital of Canada (as we always will be), we might as well have the infrastructure. I have never spoken against cycling infrastructure.

I also think Dean Fortin is a good man, and one hell of a hard worker, I like the guy a lot. Most of you know that I'm on a first-name basis with him and we get along. But I can't support his fiscal policies. And I think he sets the agenda, for example asks the departments to set their budgets at x% increase. We need to fix that.

This group of specialists might all be fine people, but what have they done recently to preserve heritage? The Kalman Report said that the blue bridge had "significant heritage value" but we know where that went. Now they want to tinker with building heights near Fan Tan Alley in Old Town.

I agree with enhancing the cycling infrastructure, but at what cost? What about the lagging infrastructure and the inconvenience of not having a McKenzie interchange to move people around more efficiently.

Yes, the person that is Mayor needs to be a hard worker, but if the runner in a marathon takes the wrong turn halfway through the course, they might still be "working hard"...going in the wrong direction.

Many Madoff backers turned their back on Madoff over the bridge fiasco.

She stood in the way of preserving the JSB and voted down a rental project downtown. For a councillor who apparently stands for heritage preservation and is a champion of affordable housing, why does her MO change with the direction of the wind?

Agreed.
