A tower is a tall structure, taller than it is wide, often by a significant margin. Towers are distinguished from masts by their lack of guy-wires and are therefore, along with tall buildings, self-supporting structures.
Towers are specifically distinguished from "buildings" in that they are not built to be habitable but to serve other functions. Although distinguishable from buildings, towers are in fact BUILDINGS. The principal function is the use of their height to enable various functions to be achieved including: visibility of other features attached to the tower such clock towers; as part of a larger structure or device to increase the visibility of the surroundings as in a fortified building such as a castle; or as a structural feature as an integral part of a bridge.
Towers can be stand alone structures or be supported by adjacent buildings or can be a feature on top of a large structure or building.

I use the term "tower" strictly within the context of our local architectural vocabulary. I hold no illusions that more than half a dozen buildings in the CRD even come close to having tower-like qualities.

Fast progress on 750 Pandora: it appears that they will likely begin pouring the 9th floor (of 13) this week.

They must be concentrating efforts on the Pandora "tower" since the Douglas building is still not up to grade.

Sad, no fresh pictures ... ...
Not a lot of visual progress on this in the past couple of weeks. 1515 still isn't out of the ground (except for some elevator core rebar) and it seems to be taking forever to get each floor added to 750. I suppose I am just impatient to see this project top out.
