That's why we pore over this thread. We want something concrete, the sort of hard info that can cement VV's reputation as the source for development updates. Save the "poor me" stuff for another board. It has no part in this mix.

This needs to stop as earlier today Mike was getting "the chuckles" and I don't think there's a cure for that.

For a pouring update, one of the campbell crew helped me pour self leveling cement in my basement, and lent me his trowel for laying out the mortar mix. It is now curing. The beer soon will be poured in thanks.

Hey, if you guys don't want updates, I'll stop. I thought pouring the final floor on one of downtown Victoria's more significant buildings in it's entire history would have been sorta big news on a pro development forum.
I suppose we should get back to complaining about bicycle lanes, then.
Wait, there's a bike lane going into the 13th floor?

Technically the bike lane comes down from the 13th floor only. Nobody will be using it to go up, it's much too steep.

I wonder why bcIMC even needs employees. Send a cheque to Ontario Teachers to take care of along with theirs. I fail to see why we need a team overseeing BC employees' pension money any differently than any other pension fund. And they probably do not need it spent at Glo for drinks.
I just looked at the two most recent annual reports for bcIMC and Ontario Teachers. It appears the former has a total annual management cost of 24 cents per $100 under management, the latter is 78 cents. bcIMC manages their fund for less than Teachers, and creates 100's of local Victoria jobs in the process.

Re-bar has started to be erected to support the top deck/roof of the final floor. Full height (except for mechanical structures) will soon be achieved on at least part of the tower.

I think you guys are wrong, this doesn't look like the top mechanical floor to me. I always thought it strange to have a tower crane so much higher than the roof - you don't just add extra mast sections for the fun of it. It certainly looks to me like the mechanical floor will be the floor above this. Does anyone agree? Concrete pours by bucket now.

I agree with Gary. That's the 13th floor so logically it needs a roof, and then mechanical.

Nagel, you are correct. They are working on the 13th floor. The next level will be the ceiling of the 13th floor. The mechanical penthouse will be next.

I echo the chorus. The "tower" currently has 13 "floors" poured (this includes the ground level). Supports are going in to hold up the "roof" of the 13th floor. The mechanical level will be above.

The first of the temporary supports that will hold up the "roof" (but not the mechanical level) are being erected on the eastern side of the Pandora tower.
