It's looking like the building's almost complete! The Pandora side is pretty much done and the sidewalk and bike lanes have re-opened. There's still work being done on the Douglas side but it shouldn't be long. I noticed In Sherwood Cafe's ad in search of a sous-chef that they say the kitchen will be up and running by late July, so an opening should be pretty soon! Any word on any other tenants besides Bluewater cafe and of course, Dobo Sala?

^ I know that Business Development Bank of Canada, Coast Capital, xMatters, and Workday all have space in the building.

^ I'm just going off of the ones who have building permit applications for tenant improvements. You can learn a lot on VicMap!

Douglas House is pretty much open now, and the blue fencing around the water feature has been taken down (although the water feature isn't fully up and running). Sherwood Cafe/Bar opened the other day though they've only been opening for shorter couple hour chunks throughout the day as a part of their "soft opening". They seem to still be working out the kinks, but either way I had a good mocha!

Looking forward to seeing that fountain running. I'm a bit concerned they messed up on the correct height of the black sealer on the iron arches. Looks odd to me, but let's see what it looks like once it's running. Also, someone is going to walk into those benches and seriously gouge there shins. Those corners look sharp!

I got to tour both buildings recently, it's really nice in there. The construction feels of a very high quality, lots of little touches you barely notice but add up to a quality building.

Another interior photo, I believe by Matt Shannon Photography and posted to Red Line Glass' Facebook page. Gorgeous interiors reminiscent of The Atrium. I'm surprised the ground floor businesses haven't filled in faster though as it's still just Sherwood and Dobo Sala. Anyone know how long it took for The Atrium to fill out with retail/restaurants?

Interesting I had to double take as I thought this was the Atrium too. My IT team at the time was the first group to occupy the Atrium (second floor) in 2010; to your question as I recall all the commercial space on the first floor was essentially filled right from the get-go although - and I'm a little fuzzy on this - I believe the kitchen place while it had signed the lease, wasn't actually open for business for a few months after the other establishments.

Interesting. I wonder what's taking so long. I've noticed most of the new developments downtown have been taking a long time to fill in with businesses - Yello, Janion, Legato (though there are "leased" signs at both store fronts here), etc. 595 Pandora has had an empty ground floor for quite some time now, as has 601 Herald. It's surprising considering the vacancy rate for businesses downtown has plummeted to around 3%, so one would think there's a demand and these spaces would fill up quickly.
