Oh yeah, maybe they put aside chicken that is 2 hours old on the display case. I mean, it’s likely to be cold by the time you get home, anyway

Know it all.

I've also bought the cold rotisserie chicken for $5.99. It's in the cooler with the prepared meals.

It's hit or miss getting them, and they go fast.

Worker interested in taking polar bear photos at Nunavut site before he was killed

Christopher Best told his family not to worry about the pictures of polar bears he was snapping and posting on social media as he worked at a radar site in Nunavut.

https://www.timescol...killed-11465707

Due to the bear risk, workers at Brevoort were allowed to smoke inside the technical services building near an exhaust fan. One worker there looked out a garage door window and saw the bears attacking Best and yelled for a gun.

There wasn't a gun, so he ran to the accommodations building and alerted the wildlife monitor, who went and fired a non-lethal bear-banger from a 12-guage shotgun.

The report says both bears ran but one turned back and charged, forcing the monitor to fatally shoot it. Another employee arrived with a weapon and kept watch while others loaded Best into a truck and brought his body inside.

Did he shoot it with the non-lethal gun? There “wasn’t a gun” but then the guy had a shotgun?

Yes, they are mean mofos.  They desire to kill you.

Well, look where they live. You are most definitely on the menu. Soft, pink, meat and water sack, just standing around. Probably should have had a boomstick on his person.

Passing the bear-wrestling course is mandatory for VV platinum membership, but even so, I don't think a broomstick would be of much use unless you were expecting to sweep up after the bear finishes his meal.

The term "boomstick" is commonly used as slang for a firearm, particularly a shotgun, and most notably a sawed-off shotgun. Additionally, it can refer to any type of shotgun, such as a 20 gauge or 12 gauge, often used for home defense and by novice shooters.

Accio Firebolt is a well known exception to that. Pretty sure it'd make quick work of any bear, given its effectiveness against a Norwegian Ridgeback.

Sorry, I find it hard to believe that there's any boombox powerful enough to take out a polar bear. And that includes the monster boombox that Mike K. was notorious for trucking around during his (also notorious) Vic West urban street dancing phase. An average black bear, maybe. But not a large polar bear.

Although I do concede that his nickname "12-story Limited" was a rather clever play on "2 Unlimited".

Researchers observe wild wolves using tools on B.C. coast

A female wolf learned to pull fully submerged crab traps out of the water and eat the bait inside in what could be the first known potential tool use in wild wolves.

It’s even crazier when you read that the wolf bought an electric winch at Canadian Tire to pull up the traps.

That’s a very loose definition of “using tools” 🤨

Yeah, that’s a bit …far. A statement from one of the scientists was even more curious, suggesting humans have so much to learn from the wolves.

Don't give the wolves too much credit here. In my experience they can be very imprecise when using the calipers to measure for undersized crabs. And their lemon butter sauce tends to be way too heavy on the garlic.
