Burning electricity for outdoor lights then burning fuel to view them is pretty poor for the environment.

I never liked the LEDs. They're dim and I can see the 60hz flicker in them.

The old ones definitely but the technology does keep on getting better every year and less expensive + the dam neighborhood kids kept on stealing my old style screw bulbs(got a security camera this year thinking of putting the old style screw bulbs back up).

You mean the famous Oak Bay Police Department wasn't there to catch them in the act?

They like the OB marina coffee shop as well, last time I was there were so many police cars and officers I was sure somebody had been murdered or at least somebody robbed the place.

Best to think of it this way: nobody will get murdered or rob the place while they're there.

As most everyone on VV knows the old Tattersall Drive "Candy Cane Lane" sadly went away some years ago after neighborhood residents got tired of the annual traffic jams and time and effort increasingly required to dress up the neighborhood, and especially after some of them either retired or moved away.
Question: since we haven't done the Christmas Lights tour schtick in a few years but want to this time out as we have out of town family staying with us is there a "new " Candy Cane Lane, some area or neighborhood with a !WOW! factor that is just not to be missed?

Recently, wasn't the Candy Cane Lane out somewhere near Wilkinson road, close to the prison? Anyway the Times Colonist website every year has a map of impressive light displays.
