Hm, bathroom cleaning is not challenging enough for me. How can you make it harder?

Here you go, your sink now has an outside to clean.

I had raised sinks in one house but I hit my teeth on the rim a few times when leaning over so I won't choose them again.

i don't quite understand them.  i know the idea is to get your face closer without splashing all over.  but why not just raise the whole countertop height?  add some cubby holes or extra drawers on the added-height space.

^new, tight cables. Generally these types of light fixtures straighten out over time as the cable stretches into place.

For some reason this project just doesn't win me over, but perhaps the worst part of it is the traffic "dumbing" along Cook Street, that I am sure the city insisted upon.

^You're a tough one to please. I like that it doesn't have a single stupid upside-down "L" roofline.

That I am. If it helps, I think the Fort Street side mostly works.

I like the street-level design. The storefronts appear to be good quality build and design. There's built-in seating at the bus stop on Fort St. Landscaping between the sidewalk and street.

The finishing details are impressive. For example, the natural soffit emphasizing the lobby entrance (as distinct from the greyed soffit either side), the built-in benches, and the various types of exterior lighting, etc..

It's attention to those small things that speaks to quality.

The cafe space is going to be a great addition to Upper Fort.

i still don't know why concrete has to be exposed and plain just because it's at kick level.  i finish my interiors right to the carpet/floor.  why not the exterior walls?

Because you are not shovelling, spreading ice melter, or having delivery people running trolleys through your interiors?

I suppose they could parge it, but then it becomes an ongoing maintenance issue.

Two examples. Dyed concrete like on 555 Chatham:

Tile with stone (slate?) baseboards like on Jigsaw on Fort:

But raw concrete isn't as bad as crooked metal flashing.
