I expect they would have some sort of an espaliered ornamental tree/vine.

From Abstract's Facebook page:

"Roofing work on balconies is now complete and interior finishings have come a long way with kitchen and bathroom cabinetry installation beginning on residential level 6. Landscaping work has begun along Meares Street with the preparation of landscape walls within the courtyard."

Not to be a pessimist, but no way they will be complete by August. Progress slows down at the finishing stage.

To, Mike K

Whatever happened to the leasing of retail space at B&W?  On a post you made back on October 2016 you suggested you had an inside to a possible tenant and just a lease needed to be nailed down?

What happened?  Has anything been leased for retail to date?

That’s right! The developer at the time said he had an exciting tenant to announce. I guess there was a leasing change. I can certainly ask.

Just a thought. Wouldn't the restaurant Nuba in Vancouver be a great addition to Victoria and B&W????????

I would travel anywhere in the CRD to a nuba location, but yes B&W would be a nice spot for it. Often go out of my way in Vancouver to grab a bite there, when possible.

I really don't get the small balconies that look like diving platforms. Are they simply so someone can step outside to check the weather?

Better than no balcony, but not by much.

Completion has been pushed back to the early fall from late summer, so October looks like the target, possibly November.

Any idea how many projects are behind and by how many months on average?

They're all behind, for sure. What the average delay is would be an interesting research pursuit.

Depends on the definition of "projects" and delay compared to what - marketing statements or real construction schedule? Estimated completion date, or months of construction from issuance of building permit (not simply excavation permit)?

It's a meaningless statistic unless tied to specific types of structures and nature of what constitutes start date.

Using WFA (wet finger approach), many and 16.5 months.  :1954_dancing:
