i suspect that every single one of these protesters receives monthly government support/assistance money.
Demonstrably false.

Supporters of Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs have been occupying the front steps of the B.C. legislature building since Thursday. They are prepared to stay for “as long as necessary.”
The group joins demonstrators across the country in trying to stop a natural gas pipeline project in northern B.C.

I'd guess about 50 or so have now occupied the JSB so it's completely shut-down.

I know a few people who have been down there. They are gainfully employed.
why do they support hereditary chiefs? seems like the absolute antithesis of democracy and the will of the people.
Wet’suwet’en supporters took over the Johnson Street bridge on Saturday to show solidarity with hereditary chiefs and put pressure on Premier John Horgan to meet with the chiefs, who oppose a natural gas pipeline project slated to be built through their territory in northern B.C.
“All of this is a solidarity action for the Wet’suwet’en territories. We’re not protestors. Rather we’re trying to get the attention of people, as well as John Horgan to meet the demands of the Indigenous youth,” said Vic Ritchie, acting as security liaison on the bridge.

Nobody is actually supporting the Wet'suwet'en, they just don't want any pipelines built.

Whoever was on CBC this morning talking about it said it right: the elected, democratic leaders have accepted the gas pipeline, the courts have accepted the pipeline; just because there are a group of people supporting hereditary chiefs that don't support the pipeline doesn't mean we need to stop and start consultations again.

It sounds like the Wet'suwet'en want this project to go ahead, but protestors from across the country don’t.
I am curious where this comes from

I am curious where this comes from
Lots of info coming out from folks who are from that band making statements about being denied access to their own trap lines by protesters that aren't even from there, statements from house chiefs etc saying the protesters don't reflect the feeling of the people of the clan, that its only 1 house that's causing all the problems etc...

Both the JSB and Bay St. Bridges are now blocked by protesters.

Both the JSB and Bay St. Bridges are now blocked by protesters.
Each time the general public is disrupted by these sorts of stunts, support for the protestors dwindles. I am not sure why they don't see this and adopt tactics more likely to get people on their side.
