Meanwhile, the price in Richmond ranges from 139.9 to 151.9, and we don't even have a Costco gas bar!

And with something like 20x the gas tax!
I notice that local Shell stations are the most notorious for maintaining prices well after others have fallen and some of the stations will temporarily raise prices during afternoon commutes.
All of the 145.9 and 147.9 you see on the Westshore are Shell save for the Coop along Sooke Road.

Will Alberta get it's oil to market by rail until the pipeline gets built?
OTTAWA - Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says her province is buying enough new rail cars to ship another 120,000 barrels of oil a day, without the federal government's help. She said she's disappointed the federal government hasn't even officially responded to her request to help buy more rail cars to make up for a shortage of pipeline capacity. The price for Alberta crude fell to about $10 a barrel Tuesday, said Notley, which is about $40 less than it should be getting when compared to other world oil prices because buyers are less interested in a product that's stuck in Canada's interior. She said a year ago, Alberta was losing about $40 million a day because of that difference. Now, with the price of Canadian oil plunging in recent weeks, that differential has grown to $80 million a day.Notley credited the federal government for buying the Trans Mountain pipeline in an effort to get it expanded and carry more Alberta oil to the B.C. coast, but she said that purchase hasn't solved the problem yet. But Kenney proposed working with Notley's government to change legislation to implement a mandatory 10 per cent cut in production — about 400,000 barrels per day — which he said would lead to higher prices and help companies avoid layoffs and capital budget cuts in 2019.In Edmonton, Opposition United Conservative Leader Jason Kenney declined to comment on Notley's rail-purchase plan, saying he needs to look closer at the costs and details."Voluntary reductions are not sufficient to stop the bleeding," Kenney told reporters.
"Waiting for months for the differential to shrink will likely mean thousands of job losses, bankruptcies and billions of dollars in lost government revenues.

Hard to say. But either way, it looks like zero help from JT and Ottawa.

Horgan is looking for more BC Hydro customers. Word on the street is that the oil & gas industry will be forced to electrify their operations under the climate action plan being announced today. So much for LNG Canada supplying it's own power generation!

Seems to me that enough oil is already being piped through BC to supply our needs and still send some out on boats.
Explain how we are getting poorer by not increasing capacity. Seems to be little benefit to BC to have more oil come through here than we currently have. Also the oil that comes here is already being sold so Alberta has their line to the coast and making money off of it.

BC could have stipulated that X% of 'oil' passing through the new pipeline is refined and for BC.
Victoria residents are currently paying $0.50 more per litre of gasoline than Edmonton residents are. That's literally $30.00 more per 60 litres of gasoline.

Ah, rjag beat me to it.
I mean, good God: We have no refining capacity. Alberta wants to build a pipeline. BC gets refined oil. Everybody wins.

We are not Alberta. How would BC benefit? Minor tax intake after they pay off billions in the now defunct pipeline.
