What happened to CIBC?

Peacock is moving into the basement, there was a restaurant there before but it's been vacant for a long time.

ITs about time someone is using up the CityBites space! City Bites was owned by the same people who owned the now defunct Lettuce Patch in the Dominion Hotel, and are the same people who own Abigails Hotel. I guess the restaurant thing didnt work out for them.

The Mint is 1414 Douglas, in the block with (I hope I get this right) Aveda, Fields, the Dougie. It's downstairs, quite hidden. I like it, it's nice and warm in the winter (summer too though) and the food is OK, nice beer selection. It's a little bit hipster, but no too bad.

Is the Cactus Club still open late? I thought it used to be...when I lived in town.

now that the Mint has gone downhill.

I miss their mostly-veggie menu. The stuff that's there looks good, but it seems their menu used to be a lot more diverse. I usually go for the smoked salmon plate, and it seems to vary in size everytime I order it.

24hrs: Alzu's. My kitchen.

I was passing by Peacock the other day and it looked like the 24 hour sign had been taped over so I guess they close early.
"Beaver, ahoy!""The bridge is like a magnet, attracting both pedestrians and over 30,000 vehicles daily who enjoy the views of Victoria's harbour. The skyline may change, but "Big Blue" as some call it, will always be there."

Where are you eating tonight?

Here?

"Fly in my soup" jokes don't work here.

If the thought of eating dog turns your stomach, this isn't your day out.

The weird meat tour takes participants on an exploration of Shanghai's food markets and back alley restaurants where they'll sample dragonfly, duck tongue and bumblebee.

Sorry to revive this thread from a while back - I'm writing an article for EAT Magazine on some late-night spots and looking to see if anyone has any recent favourites. Most spots are open until 11pm or even midnight but as far as I know The Mint is the main one since Alzu's closed. I know there used to be Temple Late Nite as well but I think they closed, no?

Temple closed several years ago.

Brickyard Pizza is open until 3 or 4 AM.

When I worked at Canoe, the servers would all go out to Swans after Canoe closed, because it was one of the only places you could still get food. Not sure if that is still the case. This was back in '08.

We have a small offerings menu from 11-11:30 at Garricks Head.

Little Jumbo's kitchen is staying open a little later, not sure how late

Swans locks up their kitchen fairly early if I recall, around 10:30 I think. I once actually asked (and got!) permission to order a pizza to the spot once they cut us off the nacho train. Cenote is my current favourite, I'll have to stop by Garrick's a little more hey OSJ?
