Are the above prices "passenger only" or for "driver & car"? Adjusted for inflation, $4.00 in 1974 is equal to $21.75 in 2019.

15 minutes faster than the coho. probably did not have to turn around and was not restricted to a slow speed in the harbour.

...I assumed the Coho had control of the PA run and the Marguerite...had the Seattle route....
This was my understanding as well.

Ryan Burles, chief executive of Black Ball Ferry, was a close friend and one-time competitor. “He was a great person, someone who loved to get after it and have fun doing it,” said Burles. “He was a really special man.”
Clipper provides passenger-ferry service between Victoria and Seattle.
Burles said they met in 1986 and, at times, he counted Bryan as a confidante as much as a competitor and appreciated his ability to take on all challenges.
I wonder if Burles was that complimentary around the time Clipper and some other stakeholders advocated for an enhanced terminal on the harbour while kicking the Coho out to Esquimalt to make room for it.

I remember Darrell Bryan for being a dedicated advocate for improved transportation services. He wasn't shy about his strong support for a new integrated terminal on Belleville.

ETA that was in advance, and I think a promo bc resident rate. It gets cheaper soon. Really nice process, great trip over, not looking forward to the 7:30 am departure tomorrow.

gabon. but not forgotten.
The original Victoria Clipper high-speed catamaran set sail for the final time on Wednesday morning.
The vessel – which normally seats 294 passengers – left Pier 69 in downtown Seattle at 8:30 a.m. without any passengers on it and arrived in Victoria at 11:30 a.m. to clear customs before heading to docking along Wharf Street. The voyage is 71 miles.

The federal government has temporarily barred all cruise ships and ferries that carry more than 500 people, including crew, from docking in Canada until July to protect against the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
In a public address Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that "cruise season is suspended until July."
Transport Minister Marc Garneau says that the government will re-examine the ban after June 30.

unless short trips are exempted this will affect both clipper and coho. perhaps both could scale back to limit capacity to 500 tops. i think the coho regularly sails with less than 500 onboard. the new clipper ship is 500+ though right?
i trust bc ferries is exempt.

I’ m sure we could grow and raise our own food and pot, make our own wine, beer, electricity and export technological property over the internet.
That would put an end to this crazy idea that we will ever again need our government to supply us with the affordable housing that we somehow think that we are owed.

The Victoria Clipper has stopped all sailings between Seattle and Victoria until the end of April.
Due to the rapidly changing nature of COVID-19, or the novel coronavirus, Clipper announced Tuesday that all sailings, effective immediately, will be cancelled until April 30. This is despite receiving support and encouragement to continue service with sanitation and social distancing measures, according to a company statement.

Coho will be suspending service at the end of the month:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Ball Ferry Line will be suspending service from March 30 to April 30, 2020. Prior to the 30th, we will continue to operate under the current schedule to allow for the return of United States and Canadian citizens back to both countries as well as commercial cargo service. In accordance with the announcements from both federal governments, all non-essential travel is suspended.
The last sailing of the MV COHO from Port Angeles will depart at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 29th, with the last sailing from Victoria departing at 4:00pm the same day.
These are unprecedented times, and we take our role as an essential service provider seriously. Whether it’s a Canadian returning from their winter home or an American in a similar situation, we are remaining open until those passengers have been able to return to their loved ones.
Non-essential travel has been suspended, and we will cancel all March 30th through April 30th ferry, hotel, attraction and other leisure travel bookings. All cancellations will be automatically processed and fully refunded to the customer’s credit card without the need to contact us.
The ship will continue to operate with heightened cleaning protocols, adhering to the best practices outlined by health authorities. Surfaces in both our terminals and onboard are regularly sanitized before, during and after each sailing. All sailings have been limited to less than 500 people, allowing space for social distancing, and customers are allowed to self-isolate in their vehicles on the car deck. Concessions operations are limited to take-out style service only.
Canada has announced additional screening by Canadian Border Services Agency agents (CBSA). All travelers arriving in Canada are asked to self-isolate for 14 days. For more information, please see: https://www.cbsa-asf...a/menu-eng.html
For decades the MV COHO has been a long-standing link between two countries. Our customers are like family to us, and we want everyone to take care, be safe, and stay healthy.

Coho suspends service until at least 30 th June:
Due to the closure of the border between the United States and Canada to all but essential travel in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Ball Ferry Line has made the difficult decision to extend our period of suspended operations until June 30, 2020.
