So what are other people's favorite downtown quick and cheap lunch spots and what notable specials does the place have?

This has a new name now, something that has "pho" in it, and the sign outside the other day said it had no menu items under $10.
I've had take-out from there a couple of times and it has been good (#25).
My lunch spots have been named in this thread already:
Pig BBQ
Primastrada (on Bridge street)
Shizen Sushi
Last week I went to Pink Bicycle and really enjoyed my burger. In the past I didn't love my food but I had great meal on my most recent visit.

Yes, everything is boldly numbered. Budweiser beer? #35.

Yates Taphouse has a $10 lunch every weekday, about 8 or 10 selections to choose from. Soup and salad, and the soup is bottomless, is on the menu every week.

My go-to for bottomless soup: John's Place. $7.95 and it's different* every weekday. Did I forget to mention it comes with an endless supply of their amazing herb bread? My colleagues and I are here at least twice a month and I am there usually 1-2 additional times as well.
* their Cream of Chicken Almond / Cream of Mushroom are to die for!

Pagliacci's has bottomless soup and bread on weekdays for $8.50. Can't have enough soup in the fall in winter!

If it were closer to work, I would probably alternate it with JP.

Yalla on Blanshard, spicy fries with yogurt dip--half order, three bucks.
Falafel platter, too. Tasty and about $8-9.
