Hey I was just reading the MPI[/url:b97d2] and noticed
Residential Tower

Proposed residential tower at 924 Yates Street. Rezoning underway.
Status: Proposed Start: Apr 2007
Est. Cost ($ million): 24 Finish: Summer 2008
First Entry: Sep 2006 Last Update: Sep 2006
Project ID: 1866
I haven't heard of any development at 924 Yates[/url:b97d2], but it's likely been discussed before, anyone know what it is? The MPI is usually well behind the news, so I would think someone here has heard of something at this location.

Isn't that smack beside the Manhattan??
I wonder what constitutes a tower?

It's that dumpy two-storey yellow brick office building directly across from the Market on Yates between the 7-Eleven and the Manhattan. Now, I was under the impression that the Manhattan residential tower was built using a density transfer from the office building in question. But I don't know what the rules are regarding this.

Isn't that little building older than it appears to be? It's just got a dumpy contemporary facade on the Yates Street side, no?

The MPI's data is often riddled with errors, so I wouldn't take the "tower" title to mean much until they provide some figures.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Ren!

I agree wholeheartedly with you derf about MPI's data, just check out the dual Falls/The Waterfall entry, but I thought it was interesting none the less that no one has heard about this, or at least I hadn't heard that anyone had heard about it.
