That looks pretty good, the paintings haven't faded yet...

What's the inside phone for?

For me it would be much too small, but I can appreciate that there are people who spend the majority of their time away from home and really just need a place to eat, sleep and have a trendy place to bring a girl to take in the views of the city.

I really don't like the christmas tree-green cladding around the townhouses. Not sure if it's because I expected copper from the renderings, or if it's just straight up ugly and cheap looking. Either way, something about it really bugs the hell out of me.

+1. Also why does it stop and start again with that odd white section in between?

what do you expect, everything about the 834 is cheap. the hardwood floors are so cheap you can't even refinish them

Isn't that the case for all engineered wood flooring?

Engineered can usually be sanded and refinished a couple of times - it's a layer of real hardwood after all.

Some can and some can't - and I doubt the ones at the 834 can, they seem more consistent with laminate quality than engineered wood but overall they don't look too bad, especially the wider plan brown color.

Getting into the parkade at the 834 is can be a bit of a pain if you have a larger vehicle courtesy of the pillar (pictured below).

According to a rebutable source, The City of Victoria wanted the pillar because they thought the asthetics of the Juliet parkade entrance could be improved upon (entrance looks too big?).

Oh wow, that entrance does look tight. Are scuff marks already visible on that pillar?

The good news is that it's only people that live there that have to navigate that opening, so hopefully they get kind of good at swinging out a bit and attacking at the right angle. As opposed to first-timers at a public parkade etc.

There probably is something you could do to make the Juliet entrance look nicer, but I'm not sure what, or if it should be done.

Hmm. This makes me wonder if there is guest parking at The 834?

Yes, 5 visitor parking spots. There is a panel at the entrance and visitors can buzz you to open the first gate.
