Other than the Costco diner, where can you get a good take-out hot dog around here?

Beacon Drive In.

Lots of little league concession stands put out some surprisingly good food.

I consider hot dogs to be like motel shampoo. OK in an emergency but not something you'd actually purchase voluntarily.

The guy that sets up a barbeque across the street from Capital Iron puts out a halepeno smokey that is to die for.

Have not been for a while but the ex-pat South African guy used to sell great "hot dogs" at the Moss Street Market (and Folkfest). The Boerwors (sp?) was my favorite.

I wonder if Japadog would consider expanding or franchising here. I think that they are sitting on a gold mine if they would consider a franchise model.

+1 That was great! I never seem to have the time to hit the Moss Street Market. Is he still there?

Most of the mystery tubes in Victoria are either fried on a flat-top, grilled on a propane barbie or done on those heated roller thingies. Why can't we get New York style "dirty water" dogs? That's the only way to go, IMHO. Whole grain coarse mustard and fried onions....that's it, that's all....no avocado, no pineapple, no goji berries....

Big Wheel Burger has good Nathan's Hot Dogs from Coney Island, but I just discovered the greatest hot dog restaurant every: the kosher dogs from the Jewish Community Centre on Shelbourne, across from Shelbourne Plaza. They are huge and juicy and come with a choice of accoutrements (e.g., pickles, relish, saurkraut, etc.). So good!!!
