More breaking news by the TC. This is the full article:
The west side of the Janion building, built in 1891, is getting an addition as Vancouver’s Reliance Properties converts the once-unused building at 1612-1614 Store St. into a condominium development with micro-lofts.
Some buyers were so excited about the project that they camped out overnight for a chance to buy units, which started at $110,000.
Reliance said it expects the project of 100-plus units to be complete in fall 2015. The finished project will include social rooms, a rooftop deck, kayak storage, workshop and gym.

LOL @ the T-C. "Breaking" news that's almost 2 years old.

I dont think Reliance ever said it would be done in Fall of 2015. I thought the consensus was mid 2016...

Mid 2016 would seem reasonable at this point. They are already out of the ground/water
I heard the contractual outside date on the project is June 30th, 2017 so they have plenty of a buffer to deliver the product within that time frame.

Based on how quickly Knight built the Andrew Sheret building I doubt they would be done anytime next year

Nobody except the Times Colonist expects 2015. The purchaser's contract legally allows for final payments (ie., final inspection/permits/move-in) as early as 2015, and as late as 2017 (and longer with adjustments based on unforeseen circumstances). My prediction - but i am no expert - It will likely be ready for move-in by the fall of 2016. Why would a developer want to delay the receipts of the remaining 85% owing from initial purchasers?

^ Where does the hole go in the seawall? Stairs? Can I launch my kayak from that hole (if I'm a building resident)?

That would be so cool!

You do not qualify.
That hole is only for trolls that used to live under the bridge, and are now displaced.
At least I don't think you qualify...

Obviously this first level/seawall was quite complex and has sure taken some time. I wonder if the other concrete floors will come up relatively quickly now that the foundations have been sorted out.

Kayak launch is part of the amenities. There are a couple storage type rooms on the bottom floor that appear to have dividers, but I am not sure if they are for kayaks or some other use.

Hmm, Concord didn't think so, but I suppose one of those holes could be for a crane base. Look at those big wooden forms laying on the bank.

Hmm, perhaps they'll situate it further east where they have yet to start construction.

I think that hole those two guys are standing in is much closer to the existing building than you think. Remember, my extreme zoom lens is causing enormous depth compression.
