It is my understanding Parkside will be attempting an occupancy permit on Tower B sometime around September 17th. It is my understanding there is a lot of work left to do, should be interesting to see if it comes to fruition.

Did this job obtain full occupancy?

I understand that they do have occupancy, I haven't been down there in quite some time so I'm not sure if they got it on the 17th or not, but at the end of the day they do have it now.

I believe we can move this job into the COMPLETED category! YAY! Hard to imagine I came to this site over 2 years ago, and its FINALLY DONE! - I stopped by to say Hi to the remaining Farmer guys on site this afternoon, took a tour of the building and despite my initial reservations about it, its really come together on the inside. Lobby of B building looks great, pool is sparkling, Atrium is warm and muggy, w/3 semi trailers worth of plants from the Crystal Gardens, Spa is fully operational, and in talking to a couple people in the building, occupancy is slowly but surely working its way! - Farmer will be completed and off site within a week, site trailers, shacks etc left this morning, w/the last semi-trailer/office to be heading out early in the week!

Boo hiss to this effing wall. WTF? Why? Those are retail units.

The atrium is cool. Check it out when you're in the neighbourhood.

Oh and there was a for lease sign for restaurant space. I guess the planned restaurant fell through.

The bike rack was placed by someone who does not ride a bicycle in their day to day life.

Ouch, no kidding eh.

They should have been more creative, too:

"The idea that we're going to have somewhere [in the downtown core] that is specifically geared to families and children is absolutely extraordinary," said Coun. Sonya Chandler.

I think this is a great idea but seriously its not like there aren't already a few places downtown for kids.

Victoria Coun. Sonya Chandler said at the time of the rezoning proposal in January that it was "absolutely extraordinary" that the downtown core could get a site specifically geared to families and children.

Bug Zoo, Miniature World, Beacon Hill Park...and there used to be the Crystal Garden, too.

It would be great if the RBCM were involved with some sort of mutual discounted pass scheme.

Sounds about right. When it fails and the taxpayer is left with a debt to cover we can always expand the conference centre to utilize the space.

I hadn't really looked all around at Parkside until today. This is pretty nice, I like the way the glass is hung:

Just to the right of this picture is where Fantastico is going in.
