008 would be cooler.
Albeit meaningless and inaccurate.

For what it’s worth the Atrium has a big 808 art display on the Yates Street side.

So this is up to grade on the SE corner. And at the NE corner they will soon pour a floor above grade.

Is there any chance I will be shopping at Save-on-Foods in this location by this time next year?

Quite likely by late winter of 2019, or very early spring.

Is the second storey/floor intended to be concrete or wood frame...?

Where two floors have been built, the construction is currently all concrete. Two residential floors appear to be equivalent to the full height of the large retail component (Save-on-Foods) that fronts Pandora. I assume the retail/residential spaces along Vancouver Street will also be two levels of concrete.

...There isn't the political will to rezone those areas (particularly N.Park) today, but I think we'll see it inside 20 years.
Based on the furor over the Bluesky proposal I'd say there will have to be a tidal shift in public perception before North Park will see any significant increases in density. While looking for something entirely unrelated I came upon the following chart that indicates just how little development my 'hood has seen in nearly all of the past 20 years.
I knew things were pretty static around here, but I didn't realize it was quite like this.

Thanks for providing the information, Nparker. Wow, I didn't realize it was that static either! Edit: I notice a gap in the date ranges there, was nothing built from 2001 to 2010?

And you're right! The social housing project for sure.

I think once all of the concrete work is complete this project is going to transform very quickly.
