I'm looking forward to doing my first shop here sometime in the spring.  :)

Good news is that SoF is a huge upgrade on Wellburn's; the bad news is...its SoF: its generally OK unless you are big fan of deli options and in particular the seafood, in which case you're in for disappointment. The seafood section in particular, which I would rate the poorest of all the major retail grocer chains in terms of both selection and quality.

SoF will be such a huge improvement over the often empty shelves at the Market on Yates and the questionable everything at Wellburn's. I have never had any issues with SoF's deli options, and if I really need some sort of specialty seafood (which is rare in my diet) then as long as they survive I can still go to MoY.

I have never had any issues with SoF's deli options, and if I really need some sort of specialty seafood (which is rare in my diet) then as long as they survive I can still go to MoY.

Which is my main issue with them since seafood figures high in my diet: I'm referring to seafood generally, not specialty items.

I went into the Tillicum location last spring looking for BC spot prawns which I think I've seen there once. I dutifully inquired and was told it was the wrong time of year. Uh, no it wasn't: wrong thing to say to someone who's fished on the coast and island for 40+ years. I drove the five minutes to Thrifty's on Admirals Road and...whaddya know....BC spot prawns. And on sale to boot. Dummies.

But yeah I remember from my time living in NP what a dive Wellburn's was and SoF is definitely a huge upgrade. Not that that particular bar is set very high, lol.....

What your telephoto can't range in to Pandora Street from Cabo? You need to upgrade your gear man....besides why are you responding to this thread? Take BY and hit a bar or beach, or preferably a bar on a beach, and leave the laptop in the condo....

You guys are my morning coffee clutch. Only checking in once a day!

It looks decent enough...depending on the monthly cost of course.

pretty simple cheap stuff. drywall window returns (no interior wood trim except sill) standard thermostats cheap hood fans inexpensive light fixtures simple baseboard heaters and simple baseboards. cheapest possible tile backsplash.

The stove is actually of a higher quality than your typical modern rental unit stove.

pretty simple cheap stuff...

Why would a developer spend more on "expensive" finishes in a rental project? It's clean and new which is more than can be said for about 75% of the rental stock in the CoV.

Luxury is bad when it's evident and also bad when it's not evident.
