A London street proposal. A cabbie stated he had no objection to cycling, but that this was madness :)London.jpg

So here's something out of left field.

The folk(s) behind the Cycling in Victoria Facebook page have asked us (VV) if we'd like to take over the page moderation. They say it's fallen off their radar and they don't have much desire to maintain it.

So here's a question, would coreyburger or nagel, or anyone else on this forum, like to be an editor of that page? That would mean posting info relevant to cycling in Victoria when you notice something has come up, etc. I know there are other cycling enthusiasts on this forum and the offer would of course be open to you, too. We wouldn't need a whole army of editors but a couple folks who are passionate about the subject are more than welcome to hop aboard.

That's a good idea.  It already has double the following of the GVCC FB page.

Interesting, can't say I have ever followed that page. I am happy to take over editorial duties

Great! Thanks, Corey.

Hopefully I'll get this sorted right quick and we can be up and running over the next little bit. I'll post an update once all is on the up-and-up.

My understanding is the expanded Amazon workforce location in Vancouver is directly on a downtown protected bike lane.  No coincidence, as Amazon's RFP for a second HQ listed pedestrian and cycling infrastructure as a plus for applicants to highlight.  Why?  Because tech workers want them, so as a prospective employer of tens of thousands of tech workers in an urban area, they make sense for their business.

What will the extra space be used for?  Bike racks?

You could use that space for a drive-by coffee bar...grab one as you cycle past.
