Nice looking building to bad most of it wont see much sunlight . Most of the units are in the shadows. South facing is blocked by Mondrian and then the East and North Facing side. west facing will get some sun in summer months late in the afternoon

Big windows facing north are great. You get lots of indirect light but you don't ever get roasted.

Good point Aastra, especially since the homes are unlikely to be air-conditioned.

Has there been any more discussion on it's sister building at 1088 Johnson? I was looking over the original plans on civic web and had thought that the parking for 1088 was accessed via 1075, but given all the concrete that has been poured it would appear that is not the case.....any updates?
Good to finally see this city finally growing up a bit.....

1075 is really coming along now, I see one of the three towers is topped out (I think) with 2 or 3 more floors on the other two....
3 towers? I hesitate to call either of the 13-floor wings "towers" and I believe both the Cook Street and Pandora Avenue wings each have 2 smaller floors left to go.

This may only be a preliminary rendering, but it's hard to say if there is parking access to this building from Johnson Street...
unless it's where the group of people are standing in the above image.
Does anyone know if ground floor retail is planned here?

In the original Planning and Land Use Committee report, they talk about 16 parking units on site at 1088 Johnson (8 spaces would be at ground level and another 8 underground), plus 21 spaces reserved for 1088 residents at 1075 Pandora. The access to 1088 Johnson parking would be via 1075 Pandora. There would be a gate connecting the two properties in the underground at each level, so no ramp in the 1088 parkade from basement to ground floor.
Page 19 of this report has the drawings for the basement and ground level.
Ground floor commercial planned as well.

I keep getting berated for calling Victoria's new collection of above 10-floor buildings "towers", so I thought I'd share the wealth.

The word "tower" really describes the proportions more than the sheer height. Hence why a diving tower is a tower and a bell tower is a tower even though the sheer height might not be so great in either case. If that Johnson St. building were half as deep then it would likely be the most towering tower in the history of towerdom. The Netherlands carillon tower would cower in terror, and that's no error.

If only I had a dollar for every time Rob Randall has tried to redirect the conversation to Kentucky Fried Chicken.

^You'd have one dollar. More than enough for KFC's new 99 cent KFC Snacker.
